Highly efficient JETTER 2! Giving the van a sort out between jobs. Make sure Jem doesn’t sneakily swap vans. Protectacote is a good for van lining. I had it in my last van. It can be pressure washed and won’t destroy it.

easy solution for the diamond plate issue just use what we in the United States call rhino lining cheap and effective way to guard everything and you can do it yourself

2 quicky jobs there the drain then the van . They should fine people who use baby wipes down the toilet as where I live somebody was flushing them down the toilet . Had to get council out to do it as it was free of charge and what they did for around that area where they were flushing them all had a letter not to flush them down the toilet .

Efficient work Andy! It 's not a "Drain Unblockers" video unless there's 3-4 gallons of disinfectant dumped into the manhole. :-) Keep it coming! BTW, who the hell pays for a community manhole fixing? Is that billed to the city? If 2 property owners are affected, does 1 pay the full bill, or do you guys split it both ways?

The title deed to the property might make it clear responsibilities particulary on the residential 'estates' often built by a created development company then sold with covenants (promises) on the land.

The customer should have called United Utilities, the local water company. Because it's a shared drain they are responsible for it and would have unblocked it for nothing. MerseyRod are obviously good at what they do but a bit dodgy if they aren't explaining that to the customer. If the customer tries to get the neighbour to pay anything they'll quite rightly be told to take a hike.

@@martincook3201 I’m sure they explain it all to the customer. I’m just a person across the pond trying to understand UK manholes. The public manholes over here are on public streets. We have “clean outs” here that get clogged that our plumbers typically clean. Mersey Rod doesn’t seem like a shady company at all…there’s too much disinfectant!! Haha

@@martincook3201 Sometimes one would not know it was a shared drain. And the law on drain responsibility on private land was a mess until privatisation of the major authorities . I have shared drains running on non publicly owned property are the drainage authority responsible for clearing from drain access point to main sewer (ie from the outlet of the access chamber) . or also responsible from the inlet to the access chamber to , and including the soil stack pipe ? The ITV (C4?) series on United Utilities does not make clear which clearences they do are ones they are required by law to carry out and which ones are chargeable to the property owner. Indeed would you then say if the drain is defective from the final access chamber is the repair responsiblity of the drainage authority, MerseyRod are pretty good at advising property owners or occupiers to contact UU when such a situation is clear for a repair or further main sewer clearence.

I bought a used van that was so nasty I put front wheels up on ramps and pressure washed carpets. Opened hatch at back and let the water run out.

It only stinks if it gets blocked since in an unblocked drain the waste would just go straight through to the main drains, these manholes are for access to unblock clogs 👍

Wipes are a problem.. The wipe manufacturers & plumbing pipe makers have to get together & work to make a product that won't clog. I have cleaned my pipes a number of times due to wipes, but as a senior citizen I can tell you I will not give the wipes up.. As you know many feel the same...
