1. Is this a prison or a psych hospital? Both? 2. Why would a psych hospital have executions? That's not normal for a hospital and doesn't exactly help the mental health of anyone to be locked up around a death chamber like lambs in a slaughterhouse. From what I remember hearing in a podcast hosted by a death row inmate, those things are tested regularly even if they're not used very often, and they dim the lights of the whole prison and shit so everyone knows it's going off. Real soothing for my emotional wellbeing, doc. 3. I don't remember if the electric chair is ever seen past the intro in this game. Either way, why would they add it to the intro video but then show you what looks like a shock therapy device instead at the start of the level? My point is that the whole deal with the electric device thingy in this level and whether this facility is supposed to punish murderers or treat the dangerously mentally ill is extremely confusing when I think about it. I guess everything being presented as nice and humane but really being a decrepit shithole is kind of the point of Carcer City, though.
