I really wish they had kept Rhaenys black Baratheon hair from the book, cuz it makes it more of a question to the public about whether or not the boys just have a recessive gene that’s been passed down from Laenor. I also REALLY wish that they hadn’t skipped/completely disregarded the fact that Daemon, Laena & Rhaenyra were really close during those 10 years. And they used to fly their dragons together. I wanted that scene, of them just messing about on dragon back together. Just one scene. Tbh they skipped a lot I wanted from the 10 years not shown. Daemon killing Laenas betrothed would have been great. But I get it. They want to get to The Dance for the non book readers

Pay close attention to what Helena says and it's very important, I wish they had shown us more about Harwin and Laena that watching the series for the agent feels more pain when the characters die, so when I see the two characters die I was sad for the death of the two but not to the point of crying for them two characters, you know, I think the writers didn't want to show too much of the two characters for a simple reason and because they probably don't think it's important to the story When Laena says she wants her husband back what she got married is true because the daemon is depressed and just realizing he just stays at home and reading a book and not sleeping well the daemon is Depressed he misses Viserys and Rhaenyra only he doesn't want to see them the daemon we know he doesn't and so The daemon had spoken no with his head but still Laena died and sad I prefer what they did in the series than the book in the book she loses the baby then she gets depressed then one night she Deciding to go to her dragon but on the way she falls down the stairs and dies so I prefer it in the series and more emotional because we see her connection with the dragon,Daemon loved his wife so much that he made a no sign, he loves her and his daughters only the Writers didn' t show more in the book fire and blood wing that he loves his daughters and his wife more Unfortunately the Screenwriters Prefer not to show had two deleted scenes one and the daemon hugging his daughters already the other deleted scene and the daemon sending his daughters to the bedroom because they They were seeing their mother in the room trying to have the baby this is the reason why the daemon doesn't arrive at the time of Helena's death to prevent her from killing herself. A curiosity for those who have watched Doctor Who, this actor who plays Aegon he is the son of David Tennant, he is David he has worked with Matt both have been Doctor Who and now Matt is working with the son of David Tennant I recommend you watch Doctor Who it's very good this series if I'm not mistaken it has 13 seasons it's really worth watching I recommend you watching Doctor Who I love your brother's hair, it's really pretty

Alicent is just a by the book woman who believes in tradition and the rules of marriage. Aegon should be 13-14yrs. old pulling that Homelander in that window.. Pregnancy's are brutal... Shout out to all the women who have done it and more than once. Now Queen Aemma vs Lady Laena pregnancy's death scene, when it happened to the Queen King Viserys asked if the "BABY" would survive but Daemon asked if "Laena" would survive... Oohh! Daemon was going to try an save Laena but Laena knew that both her and the baby were going to die and she made "HER" choice, A Dragon Riders Death. Daemon did love her and I believe he will return to her home (can't remember name ) to raise the girl's at some point hopefully next episode.

YESSSS house Strong and house Velaryon were my faves from the book too and they both EXCEEDED my expectations in this show like!!!! Harwin looks so damn good, the entirety of house Velaryon is amazing, especially Corlys and Laena. I'm so sad they didn't give us more time with Laena even though I knew she didn't have long. I always got the impression that her and Rhaenyra were really close in the books and I would have liked to have seen that. But pacing aside I do love this episode - you KNOW plenty of fems were in the writer's room with how much detail they put into the childbirth scenes, and that long cut of Rhaenyra walking to the royal apartments UHHG IT'S SO GOOD

I feel the same way. Viserys drilled into Rhae that family is above all else. It's why she tried to use Alicent's daughter and her son to bring them back together. Otto put the seed of paranoia in her head about Rhae killing her kids. No matter what....Alicent's end goal is to kill them all and secure her son on the throne. If Viserys had a freaking backbone....he could have decreed all this shit before it hit the damn fan. smh. I read another comment about them having 3 episodes of footage going through Dae and Lae's romance....I wish we could have seen that too! Both actresses deserve the shine! The character deserves the story!

Apparently they had filmed enough footage to fit 3 episodes covering most of the time period of that 10 year gap showing things like how Leana was able to get and bond with Vhaegar, details of hers and Daemon's courtship and relationship and also other aspects of how Rhaenrya and Alicent's relationship continued to break down. But for some reason it was all cut and left out of the final series count. Probably HBO wanted to limit the show to 10 episodes and were the ones who insisted on the cuts. So somewhere in an HBO editing booth lie all the answers you're seeking.

@40:15, this is like that classic Deep Space Nine episode where Captain Sisko and the former spy Garak concoct a plot to win a war. When things go well but bodies (innocent and kinda shady) start dropping, Sisko gets huffy and self righteous. He literally lays serious hands on Garak. Garak takes the indignation and butt whipping. Then he looks Sisko in the face and with full bass essentially replies “My dude if you want to be honorable why did you come to me? You know my methods. You know I don’t have a line to not cross. You knew EXACTLY what you were doing when you approached me. You just didn’t want to see the messy details.” Later we find out even the unforeseen deaths work towards their plan. Sisko has to just be quiet and let things play out.

I'm no fan of Alicent but why is everyone saying she's just a jealous hater while still riding for Rhaenyra's messy ass? Rhae Rhae is a controversial heir in and of herself. Then she adds insult to injury by having three bastard sons. I think Alicent would have probably still challenged her if she had true born heirs but she's positively furious and unwilling to forfeit her sons' birthright for a bastard. If Ned Stark was considered righteous (if a fool) for trying to bring down Jeffrey Lannister for being a bastard then why isn't Alicent getting the same respect? Rhaenyra was reckless, and entitled as she’s always been, she should have tried for at least one kid with leanor, but I do not excuse Alicent or feel no sympathy for her one bit, she has always been jealous of Rhaenyra, and she has an holier than thou attitude that I can’t stand, and it’s not by accident that she drew all those snakes to be her ally , freaking sir cole, is still acting pety, I don’t think anyone can say he’s an honorable man after this episode. And this was my problem with this episode, i which they had address what happened to sir cole after he killed a guy, it’s obvious the queen intervene but how ?

See, I don’t think Rhae wouldn’t have tried with Laenor. She doesn’t love him or want him, but she does understand duty, they even agreed to it before they wed. I think they probably tried and she just couldn’t get pregnant by him.

@@sirimity it’s possible, and also right after they got married who knows what frame of mind Leanor was in, having his lover just killed, and not being able to avenge him, as we can see nothing happened to sir cole, so having sex with a woman was probably too much for him to handle, who knows, but after having one kid with brown hair, maybe she should have been using that morning after tea to prevent more kids.

Yeah, she is not blameless but she doesn’t deserve to be criticized. She doesn’t really have much of a choice. The way I see it, I don’t think laenor can get her pregnant, he isn’t interested in women at all. He also sleeps different guys but there is no consequence since he is a man and he can’t get pregnant. Was rhaenyra supposed to be celibate for 10 years? Back in the day, there might not have known about the pull out method or ways to prevent pregnancy. And mind you, it is expected for her to give birth quickly to an heir that will inherit the throne after her. So not having children is not an option.
