Generally the dye will take to grey hair but it depends on the type of grey hair you have - the lightness, if it's salt and pepper, the texture, etc. and also which color you are interested in. Can you include dark brown and black hair as well. Since it's like 80% of the population

They didn’t include those most probably because it will not work on those shades, they still need to bleach for it to work. I have darker brown and always need to bleach before or it will just look the same afterwards.

If your hair is really really dark, any hair dye may add a slight sheen or act as a temporary way to balance out certain undertones in your hair.
