@@QLivin I... don't think that's how it works. The original song is still the original song. All songs share a substantial similarity to "My Dougie" I'm not sure that it matters if the newer songs sound more like the Plies song or not, since the Lil Wil song predates his. A copy of a copy is still a copy of the original. Either way the outcome of cases like this are always hard to predict. Pharrel and Robin Thicke had to pay up for "copying Marvin Gayes feel and groove" even though "Blurred Lines" didn't copy any melodies, chord progression, or song structure. So I guess we'll just have to wait 3-5 years to see how this case ends, or it will just be settled out of court and we'll never hear about it again.

No, I think they just knew that “Yeah Glo” was the better hit and had the best chance to Win. It was like by both men and women a lot. That’s why Kendrick initially only submitted “Not Like Us,” people complained and then he submitted Euphoria too. I think he should have submitted all of them. However, I read on variety’s website that it may be wiser at times to submit your best song in multiple categories instead of multiple songs in multiple categories.
