@@Sherhind exactly man. I've supported Kukis because I have Kuki friends out there in Manipur. They told me about the painful tragedies they've witnessed from the beginning. So naturally I got angry at the Meiteis. But when I got angry, my Kuki friend advised me to not resort to hatred. He recounted the story where his cousin's family in Imphal were rescued by innocent good Meitei folks and escaped to the airport when the conflict first began. He also told me about how some Kuki folks injured in the conflict were saved by Meitei doctors in RIMS Imphal without any prejudice. There are good people on both sides and I feel the suffering they're going through. The only way to end this is to put down arms on both sides and start questioning their government's failures. I hope Meitei people can scrutinize Biren Singh without bias. Citizenship verification can begin soon.

Thanks Barkha madam for the ground zero coverage. 👍🏽 Guns, bunkers, trenches etc is not a new things for Tribals (mostly head hunters decendants) in Manipur. Most tribals as young as 7 or 8 years old know how to use a gun. We know how to make guns and prepare a gunpowder using Sulfur, Nitrate and Carbon (charcoal) from a long time back (I doubt any valley people can do that) for hunting and protection. Kuki and Naga have seen far worst than the current situation. Naga- Kuki conflicts lasted for more than 7 years with more than 1000+ lives lost. Majority of the villages at that time were well guarded 24 hours and protected with good bunkers, trenches, ground tunnels to escape and bamboo spike walls around the village, that's make it completely imprenable once the few main entry/exit gates are closed. One can forget the bullet from the village guards, any careless attempt to enter the village will end up as skewered meat from sharp bamboo spike trap. Those were the days. Unfortunately, the media was not that advance, so it was a long silent war far away from the mainland India.

Barkha, for goodness sake, the 4,500 assault weapons and lakhs of bullets that were "looted" (or handed over) in Imphal/valley, are ALL in the hands of Meitei mobs, and were handed over by ethnically Meitei police -- please get that straight. These single barrel/single shot weapons in this video (and those guns in the hands of the Meitei village volunteers too, in last night's video) are licensed hunting guns that you will find among rural people across communities there (both Meiteis and Kukis). The weapons that were handed over to the Meiteis in Imphal were AK47s, SLRs, Insas rifles, MP5 submachine guns, etc -- those are military-grade assault weapons. You're an experienced enough journalist to be able to tell the difference between an assault weapon (like an AK47) and a single-shot rifle or a double barrel shotgun. So, firstly, please get it out of your head that these single-shot rifles (or double-barrel shotguns) are part of the weapons that were handed over ("looted") in Imphal. And, secondly, for goodness sake, you will not find any of those sophisticated, military-grade weapons that were "looted" (handed over) in Imphal, with the Kukis. Nearly 3 months have passed since more than 4,500 weapons including 200 ak47, 406 carbines, 551 INSAS rifles, 250 machine guns, five lakh rounds of ammunition were taken from state police armouries in manipur out of which 55% belong to the meiti community who are supported by the police. On the other side in Kashmir where there are at best 300 weapons with militants many of them pistols yet Kashmir is made one of the heaviest militarized zones in the world. Look at the media coverage of both places and you will know what is going on.
