Manipur witnessed fresh violence on Sunday even as Chief Minister Biren Singh claimed that nearly 40 terrorists, targeting civilians, have been killed so far by the security forces. The people's anger is also directed towards the public representatives. The house of BJP MLA Khwairakpam Raghumani Singh in Imphal West's Uripok was vandalised and his two vehicles were set on fire yesterday.

I've visited Manipur every month since early nineties till 10 years ago. Met thousands of people related to my profession. Nobody talked about kuki or meitei but, spoke about how drug mafias allure youths to their net with drugs and money. Extortions, Shootouts, blasting of hand granades were common in Imphal. That was the time when I came to know about Golden triangle! Smuggling was rampant then and markets were flooded with smuggled goods. Terror outfits almost ruled as an alternate government and all business houses were paying money to the terrorist groups for survival

Here is such story of a village which is more like a military cantonment.A Kuki Village known as Langching village is one of the most respectable Military model villages in India with about 90% of its total 117 households having one or more members serving in various Indian defence forces ,mostly Indian Army.On 28th May 2023 the same village was burned by Meitei mob led by Manipur commandos ,police, Arambai Tengol and the Meitei Leepun together.The arson took place soon after the order of CM Biren ,as claimed by himself to the media, declaring a mass combing operations using all the state forces against militants or Terrorist.On the process the CM intentionally maligned all the Kuki village volunteers as Terrorist carrying automatic rifles like AK47 or M16 despite knowing the fact that they're civilians using their licensed single or double barrels kartoos or some homemade shotguns to protect their villages from being attacked and burned. As such most of the Kuki civilians, from students to government servants including the family members of the Indian soldiers who have been devotedly serving the Indian Nation for decades and generations suffered in the hands of the state sponsored terrorist organisations. Being said, the model Military cantonment village had turned to ashes with the loss of couple of lives while most of the jawan's families had fled for survival. Maligning the Kuki village volunteers as terrorist and despising the Indian soldiers and their families is strongly condemnable. Is the Chief Minister N Biren Singh justifiable in his ethnic cleansing pogrom against the innocent Kuki civilians ? Let the blood of the deceased innocent citizens of India be heard ! If there needs to be peace in Manipur, you need to make a distinction between RECENT ILLEGAL KUKI-CHIN MIGRANTS from Myanmar and yourselves that have lived here for ages. They have CHIN STATE in Myanmar which is 14, 000 square miles (MANIPUR IS ONLY 8,621 square miles) and is even closer to the BAY OF BENGAL than either Mizoram or Manipur. I know Kukis live in the CHITTAGONG HILL TRACTS as well. Manipur cannot simply allow them to settle in MANIPUR because the resources are not a plenty. The RECENT ILLEGAL KUKI-CHIN MIGRANTS from Manipur do not love the lands in the Hills of Manipur as they do not belong here. You can see the mass cultivation of poppy which meant clearing the forests of the hills of Manipur and all the consequences that come with it.

FACT CHECK: 1) There are 6 Meitei military groups listed under PROSCRIBED terrorist. The United National Liberation Front (UNLF), the people's Liberation Army (PLA), People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), the Kanglei Yawoi Kanna Lup (KYKL) and the Manipurs People's Liberation Front (MPLF) While the Kuki militants are listed under INACTIVE and/or under PEACE TALKS. And yet everyone curiously harps about KUKI MILITANTS. 2) According to the data from the state's own special anti-drugs unit NARCOTIC AND AFFAIRS OF BORDER (NAB) at least 2,518 people have been arrested in the past five years under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, for drug trafficking and poppy plantation...of which 381 were Meiteis, 1,083 Muslims, 873 Kuki-Chin and 181 others. Here too, you will find people from every community of Manipur are involved including the Meitei themselves. So, why is only one particular community, the Kuki community being accused of poppy plantation? 3) Infiltrators or refugees. Here in Mizoram we have more refugees from Myanmar than they do in Manipur. These refugees are provided the basic needs and the children even receive education and mid day meals. Yet, to this day we have no "terrorist" because of these refugees or "INFILTRATORS" as claimed by the many. Why is it so only in Manipur. It's time we each did our reality check instead of throwing around pseudologia fantastical accusations. 4) Here in Mizoram the Meitei people live peacefully along side the same Zo/Kuki/Chin people whom they have accused of the worse of the worse in Manipur. It's time everyone let go of these hate filled narratives. Let the Meitei live in the plains and the tribes in the hills for about some months, if required even a year...with no interactions between the 2 under any pretext or reason. Give them time to heal. And the media too should not try and aggravate their situation with unnecessary narratives, until they have learned to truly respect themselves and others around them irrespective of caste, creed or religion. The truth comes out eventually. There is no need to push for it, and further create unnecessary anger and polarization.

To protect indigenous Kukis of Manipur: 1. NRC should be implemented 2. Forest should be protected 3. No poppy cultivation 4. Every law under the constitution of India should be implemented in Churachandpur 5. Smuggling of arms and and drugs via Myanmar should be stopped. 6. Immediately withdraw the 'Suspension of Operation' (SoO) agreement signed between Govt of India and 25 tribal terrorist groups.
