Refusing to wear the rainbow flag should have nothing to do with religious beliefs. The rainbow flag is effectively a political symbol, it is used in a political fashion. As it is illegal to discriminate against someone for their political beliefs. These players should sue the Manly Chairman, board and club for doing so. A couple of $million dollars each should send the correct message to all companies including sports clubs that they can not discriminate because of political views in the workplace.
