My guess is Amanda is the adopted daughter of the guy who created the show, and she got stuck in a trap in the woods and died. She was able to live on in the tapes, but went insane as a result. I'm not sure how Wooly and the other missing kids fit in, maybe Amanda's dad wanted to give her friends in her tv show world and used some form of black magic to do so (as silly as that sounds)

@@deen7530 In one of the secret tapes it shows that the company was trying to do something devious to the adopted daughter that sam (her dad and the show creator) wasn't cool with. And in another there's a news story where the company talks about how they don't know why sam went missing but they're keeping the daughter out of the public eye and cancelling any planned public appearances for her mental health, or more likely because they did something to her. I don't think he put her in the tapes. I think the company is keeping her body somewhere so they can keep the show as popular as it's supposed to be since it's hypnotizing the kids that watch it. In the comments on a different playthrough someone else pointed out that the stuff they had her say in a secret tape could be them getting her to chant the names of different demons. Like bye/yell (belial) and pie/man (paimon). The tape ended with her talking to someone that wasn't there and saying that she didn't want to do something.

@bean6803 Жыл бұрын
@@Bloomkyaaa - That’s… literally a standard practice for review copies. Companies make reviewers sign NDAs to avoid spoiling certain elements of the game regularly. The most recent example that springs to mind is that Nintendo put an embargo on reviews for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet until the day before its release.
@smittywerbenjagermanjensen4007 Жыл бұрын
The embargo doesn't make any sense lol. Like, if someone bought it right when it was released today, they could release a video on all secrets/endings the same day. Meanwhile, someone who got the early-release copy has to wait 3-4 days before releasing the exact same video. It doesn't solve anything It would've made a lot more sense if the early-release copies were released a few days before launch, to drum up hype
@bean6803 Жыл бұрын
@@smittywerbenjagermanjensen4007 - It actually makes perfect sense, at least to me. The people currently under the embargo are the KZbinrs people typically go to for watching full gameplays of horror games. Their core audiences are likely waiting to see the full endings playthrough from them rather than seeking out another source and are thus encouraged to try the game themselves in the downtime. Meanwhile, anyone who is currently seeking out the gameplay videos from smaller channels are likely other people who are searching for a guide on the game, and the videos likely won’t have the same reach as the big content creators. It’s more inconvenient to find a smaller channel that can be reliably trusted to deliver all the game’s content. The KZbinrs got a head start to find everything leading up to when they’re released from the embargo while everyone else is in an arms race to find as much as they can and post videos as fast as they can. In theory, this strategy should protect the launch window, which is when a game is most profitable. Or maybe I’m just deluding myself into thinking this is a really smart marketing strategy lol (Also, your name is absolute bitch to reply to on mobile, I kinda love it)

There's something so hilarious and tragic about the "lonely kitten" scene. Maybe the kitten is a metaphor for Amanda herself and while she doesn't fully get it due to her age, the trauma about her situation leads her to freak out over Riley not wanting to help it and her by comparison. Idk, but there's something so sad about her screaming about helping the lonely kitten as she's transforming into the entity. It really makes me feel that she's not fully in control, but sometimes she benefits from it's powers when she's harming Wooly. Or... in the cases where Amanda is more sadistic, it's the entity manipulating her actions. I guess we'll know once we see the rest of the endings. But it really makes me feel like Amanda isn't the one in control, that or there's a chronological order to the tapes that we haven't seen yet. Especially in the sharing ending, she sounds so lonely. It's easy to imagine that some part of her misses Wooly, but she's not even allowed to say it. it's hard not to sympathize with her at times... Even when she shares her secret, it feels so... sad. You would expect it to be more triumphant, she's not something that can be contained within the tapes, she's free and has been this whole time... but she's not. I think the second most... disturbing thing was seeing Wooly become more and more animal like as the zoo tape continued, until he's just another sheep munching on grass. Overall, I'm really happy to see how far they've gotten with the initial premise. I was excited to see the whole attic area because they could do a lot of creative stuff with it, and I'm so glad to see it's been utilized so well.

@@rowancook4369 My best guess is Melissa summoned a demon through that ritual that producer guy was trying to make her do and it consumed her soul. Her body itself was buried somewhere by the company in order to dispose of the evidence. Somehow her soul was able to connect enough to 'Amanda' that she could reach out to others through the show, but she isn't in complete control, and someone possibly being a jerk to her can traumatize her enough to summon her demon form to come kill the viewer (like the kitten bit). She crying out for help for someone to find her body and unearth it so her soul can escape from the demon. One particularly odd thing I noticed is Hamlen's motto, 'Follow Us to Fun', along with the mouse shape of the logo. It made me think of the fable of the Pied Piper, who could hypnotize rats or children to follow him with his music. It makes me wonder if the show was being used to hypnotize children to lure them to the Hamlen company and have their souls be taken by demons. That one puzzle with the mousetrap and using the cheese to kill a rat for it's meat might lean in that suggestion

Did anyone notice that credits in the tapes are weird? Like, in store tape the last person Danny is "containment specialist", and in accidents tape last guy Larry is "chief neurosurgical officer"? I wonder why those were needed for children show....

I love how this started as a small project, but it became much bigger with the community's support and love. Honestly surprised me. I love both the polished version and the older version. The intro cutscene where the mother's daughter goes missing gives me the chills because whether or not it's paranormal, it can happen in an instant. I know people who've lost their children like that.

I like the little nod of the Pied Piper reference of the studio's name. The Pied Piper of Hemeln lead the children out of town, either to drown in the river like he did the rats, or to a better place. Hemeln or Amanda lead children to possibly their doom or a better place in Amanda's eyes seeing as what was probably done to her when Hameln betrayed her or her father. It's and interesting detail that I think ties the story together.

1st off, I love how you were open about the embargo as well as followed through with the developers wishes. Far too many people would be willing to break that limitation for their channel's gain proving once again why you are among the best. 2nd, while watching through this video my personal KZbin app crashed at 45:30 and I have never seen a more perfectly timed app crash than that. It caused a genuine startle which is rare while I am watching your channel because I am always anticipating something followed by me laughing for about a minute straight while getting back to where I was previously before the crash.

My theory is that Amanda was once a real girl who died tragically, and her father somehow kept her consciousness alive in this show. He made her a friend (Wooly) and a world to control but all of it’s only temporary. Wooly knows he isn’t real and Amanda is desperate to come back into the real world. I don’t know what the entity represents, maybe it’s a side effect of Amanda’s loneliness

Oh My God, They did such a good job on this game. From the small demo that it was to the huge game it has become. I LITERALLY CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE REST.
@Exotac Жыл бұрын
Much more interested in the story with the full release. The demos all just make the whole thing seem very one-dimensional. Mascot of Kids show is really big scary monster! OooOOOo! But this time, I felt genuinely sorry for Amanda at times. Props to the actress, they did a really good job. It's like she's suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's but isn't fully aware of it and doesn't understand what's happening to her. You can feel the mixture of anger, confusion and fear in her voice whenever she has her "outbursts", as opposed to before when it was just "flagrantly evil monster failing to pretend to not be evil". Not to mention she is aware to a degree of people outside of the tapes trying to help her, as shown by when she was trying to send a gift to "Kate" but it had been so long that she couldn't remember her name. Meanwhile, they also turned Woolie from just her victim to someone who seems like he's genuinely trying to help her instead of just being held hostage. All characters involved just in general got a massive glow-up. Interested to see where this goes once you're allowed to release all endings. Props to the devs. They turned what I fully expected to be an escape room puzzle game with a very two-dimensional villain into an intriguing mystery.

I have the exact same feelings. I wasn't really a fan of the demos at all, so I was pleasantly suprised by the full version. The team did a good job.

Can I just say how much I appreciate your videos? I know that every time I watch a playthrough from Manlybadasshero that I'm getting all the secrets all the endings (this video is an exception because I know you have to wait) and every last bit of content from the game. If possible he will always fit every ending into the video. Not only that but he also uploads the ENTIRE play-through in one video. I am never left waiting or wondering what I missed. You my good sir are a true professional at this and all I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your work does not go unnoticed. I love you. The end.

what i like the most about this game is that it doesn't use the same ps1/n64 nostalgia horror like the others do, it preys on the fears of the kids who were born in the early late 90s-early 2000s which makes more effective to someone like me and is a breath of fresh air imo

I’m about fifteen minutes in and noticing the company/studio at the end of the tapes is “Hameln,” with a mouse image… as in, The Pied Piper of Hameln, who spirited away the town children. Not sure if a relevant clue or just a fun reference.
