Cool detail I just noticed: One of the most important aspects of Susie's character, especially in the first chapter, is how rebellious she is (refusing to join the party, breaking rules, etc.) This rebellious nature is highlighted in her singing; in this song, as well as Susie and Field of Hopes and Dreams, Susie never sings to the actual melody of the songs, instead making up her own melodies. Susie is rebelling against the music. The one exception is here in Vs. Susie, where she sings along to her leitmotif in the chorus, which showcases Susie succumbing to people's perception of her as a villain, instead of rebelling against that notion. "Everybody's saying Susie's just a common brute/So i guess that that's the truth/I see nothing else to do"

i like the idea of this track being "vs susie", because it's not really her against lancer. it's against herself. she's hurt by someone she considered a friend, and her first instinct is to get rid of them. to make them sorry for crossing her. this isn't about lancer. this is about her inner struggles. lancer is her friend. probably the first person she looked up to, possibly. she respected him and he respected her.

This is 3 years ago but thought I’d pitch in. While yes. This scene and Susie’s whole character is a walking coping mechanism in Chapter 1. Vs Susie may refer to the fact it’s Susie vs the Player. She’s denying your control and she’s unstoppable against Lancer beyond our control.

I like to think that Kris is the protagonist, but Susie will be the hero. Think about it, she's disobeyed the soul's orders SO many times and forced others to as well, like when she forced Ralsei to learn R-Action. I wouldn't be surprised if we had to face her at the end of deltarune if there's a weird route for each new chapter and you do each of them on the same save slot

In game, I always loved Susie's stomp that she does, and the fact it scares Lancer. It showed that Susie's been in this way of living for a good while relying on stomping on the ground to get him to move. These games are amazing
