Fun fact, the singer and composer of the original Nier tracks invented their own composit language that was known as the "Chaos language" and includes words from English and French as well as a few others (can't remember at the time of writing this) and is actually meant to be Indecipherable, you're not supposed to understand the vocal meaning behind the song only the emotional meaning

It's actually a made up language in the game, it was intended to sound like how language would evolve over the next 1000 years. So nothing to understand except the tone and feelings it evokes.

It's called Chaos Tongue, iirc. Basically all the lore you need to know is that it's a language developed over a long, long time. It's got bits of a lot of different languages, but the only understanding you need to know is in the tone of voice.

Simone/Beauvoir is the most beautiful yet terrifying boss I have ever seen in a video game. Something about her using the bodies of androids to make herself "beautiful" is utterly disturbing to me. But then when you read her backstory, she is probably the saddest character in Nier. (Nier fans, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

As someone with even a slight knowledge of how the DrakenNieR universe works (with more knowledge about Automata than the rest) I’m gonna have to oppose you on this one. Popola and Devola, for example, have a sad backstory in Automata with them suffering for their NieR counterparts’ actions. Emil found himself fighting a war against countless foes for friends who no longer lived. Mikhail had to kill his best friend. DrakenNieR is filled with messed up stories.

I am still just absolutely floored. Carl, Uprising, your voices blend so well it almost feels like they combine into one being, it's perfect. It’s very good. The main gameplay is solid (it’s platinum games), but the main qualities of the game are it’s story, themes, music and gameplay variety. Be really careful of spoilers though, as they can really destroy the experience (since the story plays such a central role). I cannot recommend it enough since it really fit my tastes and I hope it will fit yours too.
