I honestly love how Kohga decided "vehicular manslaughter it is" in his fights and nobody questioned it. It just works so well for the great hammy cheeseball. Also he kind of is like Team Rocket. A constant bother, not really much of a threat for the most part and is such a goober that everyone loves him regardless, and he regularly survives the kind of slapstick violence that would kill any normal person. Really makes the reference fit if you ask me. Not to mention all the OTHER jokes or references, none of which feel out of place because it's Kohga and he totally would say that sort of thing without a lick of irony.

Honestly Master Kohga getting so much more attention in AoC helps the game in general since it adds more to the villains of the story and it’s one of the few things that AoC has over BOTW and TOTK. I hope there’s another AoC adjacent game that adapts the events of TOTK into the AoC timeline. Imagine a redeemed Yiga Clan fighting to help the heroes against the Demon King, and maybe we can see more of the story through Ganondorf’s perspective as well so we can understand the character more.
