i think the best option is to buy houses in already established Estates, as they are already in the Map and above all, have infrastructure set up.

I felt that man’s pain. That’s Kenya for you. He probably bought the land legally either from the government or a politician, maybe the first owner bribed someone to get documents forged but since this guy has the title and everything now, the government should’ve offered to buy the land back not just grab it and tear down his house. This is very sad!

George Kaume this demolition had nothing to do with the handshake. It took place over a decade ago.

I agree with siasabora and Mnena Ukweli. The roads ministry could have charged the owner a fine and redrew the roads. Also demolishing the homes affects the area real estate market because you dont know when your home will be demolished. I also suspect jealousy or something sinister was behind the demolitions.

So now ministers can ignore court orders? What does the citizen have to protect them if the law cannot? Unfortunately, the same thing happened back in 2004 in the same neighborhood yet no roads were built. Methinks there's more to this than meets the eye.

Everyone out there think twice and do your research before buying that piece of land ...this is too painful
@georgeodhiambo5986 жыл бұрын
esther muhunyo what if you do your due diligence and the same government tells you that it is not public land only for it to turn around to demolish your building? This demolition took place over a decade ago. What has happened to the government officials who corruptly created land plots from the road reserve? Isn't it an indication that the government is party to this confusion?

Do not build houses on road reserves thats the law. Some says the road should be diverted because of an illegality? The road construction will serve millions of people compared to an illegality thats serves a few. Kudos to the Government.
