Mantra Koodam is a divine experience nestled in Veppathur, Kumbakonam - the town of 5,000 temples. The property is designed like an ‘agraharam’ - the characteristically Brahmin street lined with ‘illams’ (homes). It’s a tribute to the region’s heritage and its historic stature as a seat of power in South India. The living spaces offer a window into what was once a predominant way of life, where cultures, communities and traditions thrived in harmony.
An ancient city once envisaged as the grandest of grand capital cities, Gangaikondacholapuram has fought to survive through the centuries. Gangaikonda cholapuram is a UNESCO world heritage site constructed in the year 1035AD. This is one of the brilliant works of king Rajendra Cholan.

Darasuram, Airavatesvara temple is one of the UNESCO world heritage monument and marks it as one among three living chola temples. This temple was built by Raja Raja Chola II between 1143AD-1173AD. This temple which we you can see in this video was, seven times larger in size, but was destroyed by various invasions. You can see the remaining ruins in the end of the video. This temple is said to be architectural marvel.
