The NBA has one less legend playing this upcoming season. Manu Ginobili is truly a basketball entrepreneur--one of the most unique and interesting players ever. Not many can say they dislike Manu, and there's a lot in his game that any player can add to their arsenal. Check it out!

Respect the OG. I never thought I'd see the day where the Spurs Big 3 are gone but here we are. I'll always remember Manu killing the last descendant of the dinosaurs with his dunk on Bosh.

There is so much to break down from his game. His energy from the bench. His clutchness and passion. His passing. His management of tempo and momentum on games. Also he was a great stealer. You could always see him active in defense making plays and forcing errors. It was truly a movie-like player and a joy to watch prime Manu play.

Dreadrockz, Manu is unique among hall of fame caliber players. He did not come to the NBA until age 25 since he was lighting up European leagues until the NBA barely caught on (Manu was drafted in the second round -57th in 1999). Once he came to the league, he played a role off the bench and only averaged 25 minutes of playing time per game for his career. His uniquely modest style and restrained ego fit perfectly as part of a trio of foreign born, team first, super stars (with Duncan and Parker) that redefined basketball, and inspired the greatest "team first" squad of all time - today's Golden State Warriors. BTW, the Spurs run of titles with foreign born stars represents the virtues that make the current NBA the best basketball era of all time. Basketball is nearly as international as soccer (football) and those who believe that the players of the 80s or 90s were better are deluded.

Sorry my choose of words seems like was bad, i am even more white than him and im from argentina so manu is like a demigod for me, i was just triying to point his IQ bc for me is the most amazing skill from his defense, lot of ppl can block but believe me no many can do what manu do with head.

I was just thinking by the end Manu deserved a longer video, nice work man. I wished you showed his hesitation moves which were pretty subtle but deadly, i remember a "game winner" against the Grizzlies where he drives, slows down backs his shoulder a bit and when the defender stops, Manu just makes one last stride for the easy layup

Loved the video. For the future video can you breakdown his step back jumper more, the crazy nutmegs, his shamgods, and his game closing ability. Especially in his prime, he used to isolate on the top, usually on the corners, double backwards to get space then get past his defender with a pick or just get to the rim alone. Also please emphasize the unpredictable nature of his game. It's what what his fans love him. Tim Duncan once called him controlled chaos. Thanks!!

His movement without the ball to get an open shot is very very very underrated. Can be observed on late games and ATO's. Highlight include 2005 game 5 that setup Horry's shot, 2014 WCF Game 6 the game tying shot to send to tie the game and avoid a meltdown (Spurs were up big and Thunder came roaring back punctuated by a Durant lay-up prior with and a roaring home crowd).

How many people know that within a 3 year span, Manu won the Euroleague Championship, Euroleague MVP, an NBA Championship and then Gold at the Olympics!!! He used to dribble and pass through defenders legs on such a regular basis, somebody needs to do a segment on that. Remember that sick pass through Kobe's legs? Happy to have been there in San Antonio for Manu's run, it was incredible. How many players show up as rookies already experienced at taking clutch shots to win epic games? That's Manu.

Great vid but I disagree about him not having blazing speed! At least from 2003 - 2007 he was equal to any scoring guard in quickness, we just think of him as slow because of how long he played for past his athletic prime

After what Manu did to a Lakers super team that had Kobe, Shaq, Gary Payton, Karl Malone and Manu Ginobili destroyed them in 04 without a Tim Duncan and Tony Parker playing a single min. Yes the Lakers won but by only 3 points. Manu almost pulled that win off! He crossed over Kobe Bryant and Gary Payton repeatedly and took it to the rim for a And1 on Shaq! Also Shaq and Koby were still in their Prime's!! Ppl need to go and watch the footage because the Lakers couldn't stop him. Manu was unstoppable that game and showed his true potential and greatness that night. After that night I knew Manu was just as great a player as Kobe, Shaq, Dirk, Wade, LeBron, etc.. and if u think I'm lie'ing go and watch the footage. He destroyed Kobe and Shaq in that game.💯✌️

a video that does him justice...what i think is missing is more drives, the controversial ones that everyone thinks is a travel but isn't, just perfect footwork and timing, so that his -1 step is timed with the last dribble bounce that he pushes far in front of him, then he takes a long zero step, grabs the ball so then he has two massive steps to cover ground....4 steps with one bounce.

I disagree with "no advanced moves". Ginobili was a master of creating angles, some of the shots and plays he does, I have not seen any basketball player do. I could not find for a more simple meaning of "advanced". Ginobili's IQ, combined with his lefthandedness, made him one of the most unique players in the history of the game.

The next video better be about his passing and defense. Those are where he actually influenced the rest of the NBA, along with footwork. By the way, it's actually laughable you guys open the video up saying you broke his game down to a science. Laughable. This is really, really untechincal and honestly shows a high school level understanding of basketball. The NBA has specific offense sets that Manu exploited. You guys only ever focus on a player's individual skills, very rarely about how it fits into a whole NBA scheme.

Alejandro Romero Osnaya You don't get it. Manu did specific things on DEFENSE that altered the way offenses were run over the WHOLE NBA. He made specific reads for steals that players like Sefolosha and PG use today. His ease off either foot at any angle or pace are amazing and there are players that try to emulate him on offense, but much of it is unteachable; they're "feel" moves that require creativity in the moment. It's his defensive techniques (and a couple moves like the double-fake pass in P&R) that really altered the NBA.
