@@darbr6342 shorting market so much is artificial manipulation.. he did it so much that people panicked and booked losses. There was no lower circuit or upper circuit back then. At that time people used to take loan at 20-30% interest rate to invest in market. Anyone who had taken taken had cut loss after certain point. He used to influence who would be directors of some companies. He used to get information in which stocks have people bought using loans. That's taking advantage of people.

Frankly our earlier generation were extremely honest and hard working. Till late 70's honesty was high in supply and crooks were less but today exactly opposite. Easy to find crooks and dishonest people and very rare to get geniune honest people. Let's hope we can change this ratio back to the golden era but frankly looks very difficult in today's times of short cuts to money making attitude of people.

This gentleman is talking about A Parsi family born Mr. Nanabhoy Ardeshir Palkhivala AKA Naani Palkhivala ( Not Naana Palkhivala - A little correction ) , & He was Padma Vibhushan If I am not wrong . His words were very important especially after budgets . Although I was in my early 20s then & typically Mumbaiya I clearly remember his contribution via Gujrati news papers.
