Ajay Kedia or manu's followers won't face any jail time like Harshad did as in scam 1992 Ajay Kedia (manu's teammate)was in biz with Citibank and it was a big foreign bank giving good business to Indian economy and keeping up its forex reserves. Any action to Ajay would lead to Citibank which means they may threaten to discontinue in India. Soon the word will be out that Indian gov is harsh on the foreign banks and then no foreign banks would invest in India which means no FDI leading to devaluing of rupee and a fall in India's economy just after 1992 Harshad crash or 2001 k10 stocks crash. India wouldn't be able to take such a shock as one would lead to another snowballing effects. This is the reason Ajay was safe but Harshad was hammered coz govt was under pressure of opposition and wanted a scapegoat to make an example of. Also Ajay's ancestors were rich and were in trading biz for a long time. Harshad was manipulating as bull and Ajay, Manu were manipulating as bears. but at the end of the day it's always a middle class guy who came from nothing to something gets jailed and not other brokers or manipulators or Manu's followers who r now worshipped as God in stock market "the so called value investors" who knows where their funds came from...

@cool dude vines square off means when u buy/sell some share n u want to close that deal @ that time u use the term square off its usually for used in intraday trading( transactions that r opened n closed on the same day) Say u short sell ongc @₹ 77 and later when the price is 70 u square off the positions . I. E u buy back the sold share @₹70 Or U buy tata motors at ₹129 n sell at ₹135 u can say u hv squared off the positions. Basically used to close a open deal mostly in intraday.

This series made me so confused on who to root for. On one hand I felt that Harshad was a scapegoat but on the other hand I was sad that he was the one who was punished and no one else but he did disobey the 'law'. So nothing else can be said. I wanted Harshad to win. I feel like Suchita Dalal is no hero. She did it for her own gain. But that's just my opinion. Harshad Mehta was a great man, he rose to such heights without hurting anyone and everyone was earning money until the article came out. It was the bears who were at fault. Though he took SBI's money, he deserved it as SBI didn't even notice it missing. And you think that stocks are not being manipulated now, go and see the rate by which Adani Green's stock price is increasing without any volume being traded. In the last 8 months the stock has increased from 60 to 700. Who is investigating that? Plus how did Harshad Mehta do a scam when what he did was a normal practice done by everyone in the field.

Not everyone was earning money,those who invested on the shares harshad asked only those people were earning money. whenever the price of the share on which he(harshad) had invested rose to a certain extent he sold the shares because of which there was excess supply and the demand was comparatively less because of which the price of the share fell substantially and only harshad made profits not the other shareholders. No he wasn't a good man but i would say he was extremely smart and he was able to do that because people trusted him and invested the money on the shares he asked.

Please introduce the term "short squeeze" with Reliance example, so people can understand the term which is used a lot today. I had personal experience of Dhirubhai's short squeeze. I had bought Reliance around 120 and saw it go down to around 60. Then the squeeze happened and people were literally taking flights (expensive those days) to even take delivery of as little as 100 shares to south and other parts of India to avoid default and auction. Exciting experience. That short squeeze broke the back of the bear cartel and I saw Reliance shoot up from around 60 to as much as 230 within a couple of months. I got out around 180 because I didn't want to be squeezed in between two big forces battling it out.
