Absolutely Correct Andre! I'm going to see if the noise of rumbling gears is reduced and if it does, I'll change the oil again plus clean out the oil strainer in a few weeks, then leave it alone. If the rumbling persists then I'l drive it a lot less and have to change the gear box and clutch. I've see clutch kits which include new bearing, clutch plates and clutch for £140 though no slave cylinder included (of course I'd buy that and change it as well). The whole gearbox off a salvaged one is about £140 (150,000 miles on the clock) for this NA22 type engine. Anyone doing gear box changes please refer to your log book V5c document for engine type.

Sorry to hear that man. You learn by mistakes. Fortunately, we can learn here without wrecking our cars. Good karma. Nice one bud 👍 side note, those 2.2 ictdi timing/ oil pump chains always worry me, civics and accords. 🤣

Hi I need help I was thinking to change. my transmission fluid but I not feel safe under the car beat scare and I was thinking use extractor pump from the top and change the fluid in this way do u think its ok?
@EducationPineapple Жыл бұрын
Yes that would be okay. Careful not to trap the rubber pipe in the gearbox.

You should never mix different makes of oils, let alone different grades. The additives and stabilisers might not be compatible and do more harm then good.

Pretty sure there's a blank nearer the top of the gear box on the same side of the drain hole that you remove and when you fill it as soon as oil comes out of it then you know there's enough in there
@EducationPineapple4 жыл бұрын
That is not the fill hole you need. That hole leads to a filter and it's hard to fill from there (stuff partially in the way), so it cannot be used as a oil limit checker (oil needs to be filtered there). The proper fill hole is above the gear box on the top side, under the battery.
@neilsmith78004 жыл бұрын
@@EducationPineapple no I mean there's another little blank that you take out, not the fill hole, Its the fill level plug, when you've got the right amount of oil in it spills out of there so you don't over fill it

@@EducationPineapple its a separate blank that you take out so that when you fill through the fill hole when its full oil comes out of there so you dont overfill it

@@EducationPineapple genuine Honda MTF3 . If your filling a Honda gearbox use genuine Honda oil . If your filling Toyota gearbox use genuine Toyota recommend oil and so on . I once took my Honda too a garage for gearbox oil service years ago and they used ( none genuine oil ) had metal in the gearbox after just a month and struggled with the gears . Ever since I change myself from now on using genuine recommended designed and tested parts / oil only for that vehicle. We do not know better than multi million pound manufacturers that invest millions into finding this information out although you might get John down your local garage that will try too tell you otherwise . Think about that for a second . You won’t go wrong 👍
