Is this going to be the same standard procedure to re grease the hub on a '98 Taco ? Thanks

Exellent video, exactly what i was looking for, I have 97 tacoma with same locking hubs but they wont go from locked to free mode, I will give it a grease and see if that changes it,

Hey Man, Why are you using sealant to re-install the hub when a Toyota Gasket is available? Part number 43531. It pays to have a Toyota Service Manual and to read thru it before any projects are attempted. See page SA-27 in the Service Manual published by Helms Publications.

Plus the fact that when he tightens the hub bolts up it squeezes out the gasket compound. Which leaves nothing waterproof. That's why Toyota uses a gasket.

Does it truck have the 4WD indicator light on the dash? By the way, nice trick with the drill...

Nice trick with the drill, another good way is the good old pair of vise grips, seems they snap off and leave a bit to grab. since they are 10 mm, best to use 1/4 inch drive ratchet to tighten them. Did you leave the gasket and placed sealer?

I bought some manual locking Milemarkers for my '90 Bronco, my stock ones are broken. I get to put the new ones in today or tomorrow. I'm super excited. I've been reading my Haynes and watching videos on what to expect, and this will help a ton. Great video.

awesome vid mate, I have a 90 4 runner here in australia that i love. i reckon my auto locking hubs are fucked so i wanna change over to manual, do you have a video on the conversion?
@nicholas710312 жыл бұрын
Another thing... Why did you not replace the O Ring at the front dial? Two things I would have done is to go to Toyota and purchase the O Ring and Gasket to keep the water out.

is there anyway I can get some pics of your front suspension? I have a question or two as well. I have spent hours of time in the junk yards getting parts, talking to toyota, reading the factory service manual and tearing things apart......... Good things on the horizon....

Take tire off, use heat on bolts that wont come out(where there threaded into) works great for bolts that are sure to break.
