What is Sanity Testing?
👉 Sanity testing is a Software Testing performed after receiving a software build, with minor changes in code, or new functionality, or after a bug fix. the main aim of this testing to assure that the new functionality is working fine no further issues are introduced due to these changes. The main difference between Smoke and Sanity is, Smoke will test the critical components across the build whereas Sanity will test the rationality of the particular module which went through a change or a bug fix.
👉 Sanity can be considered as a subset of Regression Testing.
👉 In general, Sanity testing is considered to be an undocumented process, but nowadays, companies are following a practice of adding test cases for the bugs identified, so if the sanity testing is after a bug fix, most likely it will be a documented process.
