He never stated what fluid he used. But I strongly recommend Red Line MT-90. It is a 75-90w GL-4 synthetic oil specifically designed for manual transmission. Do not use regular 75-90w generic gear oil. Owners manual says you can use GL4 or GL5, but I dont recommend GL5. You will notice harsh shifts and shortened transmission life. I've experienced it first hand.

Question, sir.. I changed the manual transmission lube for the first time after 200k miles. I was worried because when I removed the side level plug it was filled over the plug. I drained an entire gallon of oil from the transmission. Is this normal for the factory to fill it so much? I put 3 quarts back in exactly until it came out the side plug. But there was a quart too much already in there!

Good Day. I have a 2010 Toyota Camry 6 Speed Manual transmission with 190,000 miles. What Gear Oil should I use to replace my transaxle fluid?
@rightlanehog31514 жыл бұрын
Amsoil sells the best range of automotive lubricants on the market. Go to their web site for details.

@@rightlanehog3151 I've been using Amsoil in my Truck and SUV for the past 7 years. But on Amsoil website, they do not have my 2010 Toyota Camry listed in there database as a Standard 6 speed Manual.

I currently use the XL Series oils in all three of my vehicles and I use Amsoil Signatures Series Automatic transmission fluid in my Tacoma and Highlander. I also change the front diff, transfer case and rear diff to Amsoil Severe Gear. I Love Amsoil. I even use there brake fluid.

@rightlanehog31514 жыл бұрын
@@BOSS-xy8op I use Amsoil Signature Series for everything in terms of motor oil as well as their gear lube and transmission fluids. I do a large order to cover a few years for my car, outboard motor, snowblower etc then renew my Preferred Customer status when I am due for another. Funnily enough, my only beef with Amsoil is their introduction of lower ranges of oil BELOW Signature Series standards. Even when my car was under warranty and I had to do several oil changes per year, I still used Signature Series for maximum protection. A couple of extra bucks per quart is NOTHING compared to the price of engine repair/replacement. My car is now nearing its 15th birthday and I have been doing once-a-year oil changes with Amsoil long life filters since Year 6. Amsoil for lubrication, Krown for rust proofing and Toyota as a vehicle manufacturer are three products I recommend to anybody who cares to listen. BTW I feel just as strongly about Toyota selling other makes under their own brand name as I do about non-Signature Series oils. And finally, we paid more money upfront to get a superior Toyota vehicle when we could have 'saved' thousands on an inferior brand, the best deserves the best :)

Peter, I have a manual transmission (Renault D4F) that I replaced the oil with pretty expensive fully synthetic gear oil 3 years ago. The owner's manual says that I should replace the gear oil every 60,000km or 2½ years, but due to the pandemic, I've only driven it 20,000kms in 3 years. Do you think I can stretch the interval or should I just bite the bullet and change the oil?

Mine goes 200000 between changes, it should be fine
