Dear Will, I can't thank you enough for doing these vidieos, I really enjoy all of your repair vidieos, and I also can't thank you enough because you saved us thousands of dollars rebuilding my brothers jeep, sense it went out, We thought there was only one way for us to fix it because we are not certified, but sense you showed us how, we fixed it and saved thousands of dollars in the fix, and all we had to pay for was the parts, Not the labor, once again, I cant Thank You Enough!!!!! I cant wait to see all of your upcoming vidieos, on other topics, I also want to be a mechanic like you!!!

This was such a helpful and well done video. Thanks for spending the time to help others out. I am just about finished rebuilding my son's AX15 and this video has been an incredible help!!! I took the time to sandblast the case and powder coat the housing and intermediate plate edge. It is clean as a whistle and looks great too. Thanks again and I have subscribed to your channel.

Amazing takedown rebuild series! My jeep is automatic, so I can't use this to help. But i have to tell you, I would feel right at home using this video as a walkthrough if it were manual! Very nice attention to the small details that make these jobs such a pain. Keep up the good work man! And when the T-case goes, have him take her to the wash first. I can imagine how colorful the language was during removal/insertion process lol.

I like this series. It helped me a lot. I finally had to give up though and take it to AAMCO. after many times of remove/recheck/install I couldn't get it to sync into 2nd from 1st or 3rd. The aluminum center plate was worn enough where the pins went into the shifting system to screw everything up. AAMCO said they'd seen this a few times recently and ordered a cast iron piece and now its working just fine. The darn thing only had 135K on it..

@drm315 grew up in a family repair shop we specialized in rebuilding motors and transmissions, most of my training was hands on very little schooling to be honest, its called on the job training. i remember one time going to a community collage to take an ASE Automatic Transmission / Transaxle exam there was at least 20 people all of witch were finishing there schooling. i felt like the outsider. only 5 of us passed that day and i scored the highest. the instructor asked me the same question

Thank You. I am about to rebuild an AX 5 for the first time. I think I can do it. I have the shop manual as well as your video. Not sure about the pressing of the bearings though. Thanks for the video.

@2rzTacoSr5 you have a good point you do need to be careful what oil you use Chrysler made the same claims as well, i believe they revised the specs for these trans years ago, 10w/30 like you mentioned. i use redline as well. if its for manual transmissions brass safe you should be ok this goes for most manual transmissions

Great video, the only thing I think you should have said in #7 is what lube spec to use. I know you said in the comments above but many people will not take the time to read them. Otherwise it's a great video series.

Hello.....great video series....almost done with my rebuild....went pretty smoothe until now.....when I put the input shaft bearing retainer on the trans it binds to the point that I cant turn the input shaft by hand......could the oil seal seating depth be causing this?.....I know this question belongs in a forum but I am hoping for a quick response from yourself or anyone else readin this who knows.....thanks folks.

Great video. I have a 1991 Jeep YJ with the NP231 Transfer Case. I have a horrific shake when letting out the transmission clutch, in 1st & reverse gear only. Once the clutch is engaged its fine. It fells like I have no transmission mount. Or a real bad axle rap. Happens only once in awhile (more when it’s hot). Can this be the NP231 Transfer Case problem?? I need help.

Did you reuse the old bellhousing bolts? If not, do you know the size, and where to get them?

I just rebuilt my ax15 out of my 93 wrangler and it goes into every gear just fine except reverse, very few times it will go in like normal and others i have to knock it it in with a rubber mallet. just wandering if you had any ideas on what the problem could be.

What do you do with the plastic tabs on the slave cylinder that keeps it compressed? Please let me know
@curtishall93974 жыл бұрын
I completed the rebuild on my ax15 and I have a question. During the bench test I can spin the shafts in neutral but once the gears are engaged the shafts don't spin, except 5th, 5th spins fine. Ive tore it down twice with the same result. Thoughts?
@trevorrodgers7956 Жыл бұрын
I had question I can't seem to find anywhere, does the trans have to be in neutral to install the shift lever or can it be in gear?
@Hunter-hc9pp8 жыл бұрын
Do you know what bolt sizes are the bolts that go in the transmission mount?
