Spoiled? Not at all! Blessed is more like it! You are leading a life that many people will sadly never know. I'm more "off the beaten path" that most. And my favorite flower in this video was at the 9:54 mark in yellow with the blue bag! An absolute beauty of nature! Hugs from Texas!
@WhiteSpotPirates
@WhiteSpotPirates Жыл бұрын
Yes, blessed is probably the better word. I meant spoiled in the way that I was allowed to experience so much wild natural beauty off the beaten path that one usually just gets to explore when u you have enough time. And because of that, I don’t “need” (or maybe also don’t want 🙈) to go to parks where it’s all in one place and with lots of people.

I like some of both. I do not like crowds, so main attractions are best off season. However, there are so many unmarked and lightly visited places around here too (Georgia Strait). Maybe one day I will make it down the coast the Mexico but I don't need to. Around the world? Not sure of it would be worth it or would work with my particular family situation... NW passage to the East Coast? More likely than other things 'cause there is family there :) but a jet is cheaper in the long run.

Off the beaten track type, this Texas cowboy give you all an A in riding, except we always make the horses walk back to the barn as they naturally want to run. Kind of strange but had just finished watching another German sailor on SV Cuba, Sarah has the strong accent so fun to hear.

@WhiteSpotPirates Жыл бұрын
☺️ I once was part of one of those crazy “running back home” movement in Panama. Was quite scary since it was on a road and it was not very wide 🙈 that was definitely not A-style riding since we could not get them to go over to the side of the road. No bueno 😬

Thanks for the visit to Manuel Antonio, we were there in 1974 and there were more monkeys than people. The area seems to have changed in a good way as many other beautiful sites in the world have been degraded or disappeared. 🐬🐾

It’s not a bad park at all. It’s a good “all in one” package. But of course there are many people…I managed to take most shots without people in it to give the viewer a more “wild” experience. But of course it’s a crowded place ☺️. But at least a pretty crowded place 😁

Nice vid Nike. Parks are great for the 1 or 2 week visitor - it's my go to for when I have people visit from overseas - all the greatest hits in a single day. Even better if it's a sanctuary or about conservation rather than a tourist trap to make $ for the owner. My thing is the off the beaten track though - it's always great to be surprised by what you will see, even if it might be terrifying at the time (depends upon the animals you come across) - you can't beat those experiences. Safe travels and looking forward to the next vid.

Well done! The possum is an aguti / jutia, I believe. And you missed one animal at the beginning of the park ☺️. I did not spot many birds but I am sure they were there, u can hear them. My camera is not good enough to zoom in on birds, though, at least not when they are high up in the canopy

I have worked with the worlds most dangerous snakes and crocodiles for decades, and yet the animal that hurt me the most (8 days in hospital) was a horse. I was bucked and drug down a road for half a mile, knocked unconscious for several days and have suffered terrible migraines my whole life since (I was 7) because of it. Always makes me nervous.

I prefer off the beaten path where there are less "tourons". Went to most of the US and skipped things like Grand Canyon, and other tourist traps, and went for the dozens of less grander canyons, and wilderness areas.

I guess i've learned to appreciate both the greatest hits and hidden tracks. I moved to an area years ago because it was a hidden track...year's later many of my solitude places have become major hits! I had to come to terms with the fact that they never belonged to me and that other people have the right to enjoy them as well. It's just really depressing when these places get beaten into the ground and disrespected. We're everywhere! I feel badly more and more on our intrusions on other species habitat...then there's the whole colonizer thing! YIKES! 😬

I prefer the off the beaten track. It gives you room to discover animals and not have someone disturb them when they are passing. I have been to Manuel Antonio in 2002 I guess. I thought it was already quite busy there with people. Strange thing to me was that there were some real expensive hotels there as well as some budget ones. I got there by bus from San Jose and talked to some girls in the bus on the ride over there. They were all back packers. When the budget hotel (muy Linda) was overbooked we looked at each other and nodded yes, we'd like to share rooms. And so I found myself sharing a very simple room with a girl I had just met. So funny this was possible then. I hope this is still possible nowadays. During the night we woke up to the sound of something terribly sounding thing. Next morning it turned out to be howlers. It seemed as if it was just outside our window pane which consisted of nothing more than a net to keep the bugs out. Just before 7 a.m. the temperature reached 31 degrees which was the coolest period of the day as it rose to more than 40 degrees later on (9 a.m.). Love to watch you visit this place; thanks for bringing up these memories!
