Even as a Mexican-American, Amores Perros is almost required viewing. I never lived in Mexico myself, but I can imagine myself there because the culture I lived in was almost the exact same there, or at least depicted in the film. It's almost like my parents and the community they decided to move into and the people they knew almost brought what they knew from there and brought to America and because of that this film I can 99% see myself in it because it's heavily tied to a culture and time period I know almost entirely from my own life and experience.

Loved "The New World" so much that I watched it back to back. Couldn't let it go. It was magic.

It was directed as if it was made during the racist 1950s. He completely discredited himself as a director by putting trash out like that. The stuff he put in is part of the false European colonial myth surrounding Pocahantes.

@@ezequielaguilar7651 It seems like you are confusing Terrence Malick with Walt Disney. Have you even seen the film, or watched any of the footage about its making and the involvement and reaction of the native peoples?

Finally, someone picks The Cremator. The editing alone in that movie blew my mind. Incredibly original. I recommend Herz' take on Beauty and The Beast as well.
