@ManuMercurial2 жыл бұрын
Happy to hear this! Yeah I struggled with my illustrations looking a bit flat until I started to do studies from real life (like the ones at the very beginning when i'm talking about Lighting properties), that helped a ton. Something just clicks after doing two or three of them and it stays in your bloodstream. Highly recommended! Thank you for watching!

i dont even use clip studio, this is just one of the BEST arts ive ever seen! she has an insanely clean line drawing with stylish curves but great sense of solid 3d spacial awareness. perfectly vibrant colours and light intensity to fit the character in a dark environment. not to say your character isnt beautiful, but as someone new to this channel, this video thumbnail REALLY caught my eye, in a way that your older thumbnail pictures probably wouldn't have. big big improvements.

Hawshi Magii! You have no idea how much this comment means to me hehe. I do put a lot of effort into my titles and thumbnails (always plan them before even starting to film the videos) since its the deciding factor on people even watching the video to begin with. That being said this thumbnail in particular was a struggle to me, I had 4 completely different versions and had the help of a lot of people in order to decide which one to use. In the end I went with this one, never knowing if I made the right choice. Your message just gave me a lot of peace of mind and made me really happy, thank you. And thanks for watching the video! Thank YOU for watching it. I totally feel you, I don't know why but when I was in college everyone used to brag about how "they painted stuff without any ref" (of course it looked like doo doo). But then as I got into the industry I realized that every single professional, without exception, uses reference. And, as I've done it myself I realized it is single-handedly the key factor for a piece's success! I think what's important is using several references and not only one, so there's no plagiarizing. It's also counter productive to use few, cause the more references you use, the more original and rich your mixture will be, so it turns into something fantastic! And on the other side of the coin, it is also important not to spend too much time on this, so we don't fall on procrastination (I'm definitely guilty of this haha). Wish you the best of luck!

Light color actually matters in other ways, especially when it comes to mood :)

Totally, it carries a ton of weight in storytelling. What I wanted to convey is some people worry too much when painting about how a color works with the rest, but if you worry more about your values then any color you can imagine has the ability to work just fine! Thanks for watching!

Thank you very much for the video, it was very useful. I would like to ask, what is the name of the music at the end of the video?

This is extremely helpful!! Thank you for this! I'm curious, what brush did you use to draw the outline for the character?

I used the default G-pen! I have a video on making your own CSP brushes in case you're interested! kzbin.info/www/bejne/emjah2WAhdmNipo

Can you please explain how to do the colorizing in Procreate?
@Slifer732 жыл бұрын
I do hope you go a little more into detail next time with shadows and lights with other examples, cuz I feel like it went through it all too fast? You explenation of the shadows were no problem, i just wish you used more examples (during daytime, sunset etc)! That or im just slow lol but you made me realize stuff that I need to work on regardless, so im def subscribing to see what other tutorials you make in the future! Thank you for the video

Hi Slifer! Working on a video on cel-shading right now (which is this but condensed/simplified), I'll make sure to talk more about other lighting examples, thank you for your suggestion! And naah you're good!! I did go fast on this video cause I'm testing how the length of the video impacts the audience retention (hint: I still have no idea cause every video is its own world hehe rip). So I did make the edit quite fast. Hopefully I get to expand on this on the next videos. Thank you for watching!!

What's the outro music? It gives me a cyberpunky vibe. Great tutorial as always though :)
