I'm a bank fisherman and if your pond or lake has 2ft or more along the shore line and is covered with lily pads I like to pitch a ultravibe speed craw in the holes of the pads .if it has weed that top out or cover the surface I will punch with the same bait or use a zoom horny toad.if the pond has small fish I use a Stanly ribbit Jr or the yum yo mamma Jr on spinning tackle and braided line

@@gregchilders7643 100% agree with the crawl, i have a pond with 10 ft of lily pads that goes around the entire edge with only a few holes and this is the only way i catch them

The Zoom UV Speed crawl is one of the best soft plastics ever made IMO. So many ways to use it and it's definitely one of my confidence baits.

@@michaelbush7696 so true .I use to use the pit boss Jr but hated when the bluegills would pluck the appendages off .the speed craw holds up much better and like you said so many uses and techniques and it's a perfect size bait for small fish and big ones

Mosquito Lake? Caught my best bag ever there earlier in April, my first time going there. Fished 4 hours and got one bite and in the last 30 minutes found a single brush pile holding close to 18 lbs. I'd love a video with more detail on how you would break down lakes similar to this: they are kind of odd in that there is not much shore-line structure like creek arms and bays. Depth shading for grass lines seems like a great idea I'll need to try. I mostly fish smaller electric-only lakes in NE Ohio and it seems like none of them fit in with the type of lakes I see people giving advice on. For example, even if they have creek arms, they are rarely big enough to have things like secondary points. It feels hard to apply a lot of the tips I see online to these types of lakes and you are one of the few people on YT that seems to have some experience with them.

Simply stated no one makes better more educational bass fishing videos than you do and yours are better than literally 90%+ of the rest, and I base this on AFTER having watched dozens of how to fishing videos buy more other content producers than is my memories capacity to recall. Not only do you provide invaluable bass fishing information you do so using a format that makes it easy to understand and easy to execute in the real world. I came to the conclusion long ago there are no successful professional bass fisherman, they do not exist. What there is today are extremely knowledgeable bass biologists who just so happen to be bass fisherman who are experts at applying bass biology to bass fishing.

From the bank? Small swimbait or chatterbait along the inside grass line. Punch mats that are within range. Weightless baits for long casts into the deeper waters. If the grass isn't matted at the surface surprisingly I've had a ton of success using a weedless dropshot with a 1/8th weight. Frogs ofc. Hope that helps.

@@mattfuller4250 ok yeah I'd punch once the sun came up fully. They lock into those mats and don't like to come up. If the pond is deep enough the outside grass line should be money with moving baits. Good luck man

I started fishing at a pond with lots of grass and at first I absolutely hated it. I did some research on your channel and one other and I learned where to throw and what to throw and it has made a huge difference. I went from being skunked to catching 20-30 fish during the daytime hours. Yesterday I caught my PB which is nothing compared to what y'all catch but it had me grinning from ear to ear. Keep up the great content and I'll keep learning and hooking.

@@fozzyozzy1030 I can't say that any one thing worked perfectly. I did use a Berkley square bill (frittside) that smoke them one day and has been pretty consistent. But one thing that has been pretty consistent is the wacky rig, I use a 50+ yr old spinning combo for that and its a kick in the shorts. Hit the edges as much as you can.
