@@RavenclawFtW3295 Simple. Creator (formless divine + intelligent energy) = Created (formless divine + intelligent energy). It means there is no separate creator or creation. Formless divine is both immanent and transcendent in nature. This is hindu/vedic metaphysics. It is different from polytheism which propagates only the immanent nature of the formless divine. Monotheism propagates just the transcendent nature of the formless divine. Hindu/vedic metaphysics can validated by logic, experiment (double slit quantum experiment) and experience (focus + meditation)

People who are confused about Atheism in Hinduism need to observe the video carefully. The orator says that Hinduism does not ask for devotion as compulsion. So it allows you to be an atheist and judges you on the basis of Karma. Beside that, go through Nasadiya Sukta in Rig Vedas, which promotes the idea of Atheism.

@parththeviking
@parththeviking 5 жыл бұрын
ABDUL KARIM The Nasadiya sukta from Rig Veda 1. Then even nothingness was not, nor existence, There was no air then, nor the heavens beyond it. What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping? Was there then cosmic water, in depths unfathomed? 2. Then there was neither death nor immortality nor was there then the torch of night and day. The One breathed windlessly and self-sustaining. There was that One then, and there was no other. 3. At first there was only darkness wrapped in darkness. All this was only unillumined cosmic water. That One which came to be, enclosed in nothing, arose at last, born of the power of heat. 4. In the beginning desire descended on it - that was the primal seed, born of the mind. The sages who have searched their hearts with wisdom know that which is kin to that which is not. 5. And they have stretched their cord across the void, and know what was above, and what below. Seminal powers made fertile mighty forces. Below was strength, and over it was impulse. 6. But, after all, who knows, and who can say Whence it all came, and how creation happened? the gods themselves are later than creation, so who knows truly whence it has arisen? 7. Whence all creation had its origin, the creator, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not, the creator, who surveys it all from highest heaven, he knows - or maybe even he does not know.

Atheist is usually defined as not believing in God. Now of course ‘God’ needs to be defined. In the west (Christianity and Islam) God stands for a personal God who is separate from human beings and in one case has a son whom he sent to earth and in the other a last prophet. Now in India, this God is not considered the Ultimate. In India, the Ultimate, Brahman, Paramatman, Tat, whatever you call it, is all pervading, not personal. It is the life, energy, awareness, essence of everything manifested. It is what is unchanging in midst of this changing universe. Science discovered the one energy underlying every appearance. India’s wisdom discovered that this energy is conscious. Now, this Brahman is not imaginable, it cannot be grasped by the mind, but since it is our essence, it can be felt, realized as real. To be able to realise it, the scriptures give some methods, like jnana or bhakti. Here comes in the personal God. To feel love (bhakti) for That, which is form- and nameless, it is helpful to direct it towards a form and name, which acts like an access point, i.e. Shiva, Devi, Krishna, Ram, Ganesh, etc… In Hinduism you need not have an Ishta deva. You can do Jnana Yoga (trying to get to the one truth by enquiry) and many more paths are there. You are basically a Hindu when you acknowledge that there is a conscious basis or cause to that universe including your own person, that is immanent and even beyond and it would make sense of course to try to connect to that, more so, since the Rishis claim it is possible… Unfortunately, in the west the Hindu concepts are not known. So when people lose faith in Christianity, they reject also ‘God’, not knowing that the personal God is not the real, ultimate truth. Hi, I consider myself an atheist (I live in the west) but I think I get what that quote is saying and it sounds a lot like what I believe. However, I wouldn't say that I think consciousness "caused" the universe. That sounds like they're separate things. My view is that all of reality has sentience as part of its nature (exactly how it works idk obviously, but this is the general idea). Is this what you meant?

I'm interested in this as well. I'm an atheist in regard to the way Christians and Muslims define God, but the Hindu way seems more broad and fits better with the real nature of the world, although I'm still a bit confused about how exactly they view Brahman. I can't tell if my view of consciousness is similar or not because the explanations of Brahman always seem very vague and aren't really clarified from what I can find. I'd like to find an article, book, or video that elaborates and clarifies this.

In Irish mythology, Danu ([ˈdanu]; modern Irish Dana [ˈd̪ˠanˠə]) is a hypothetical mother goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann (Old Irish: "The peoples of the goddess Danu"). Though primarily seen as an ancestral figure, some Victorian sources also associate her with the land.[1] Danu, a Hindu primordial goddess, is mentioned in the Rigveda, mother of the Danavas. The word Danu described the primeval waters which this deity perhaps embodied. In the Rigveda (I.32.9), she is identified as the mother of Vritra, the demonic serpent slain by Indra.[1] In later Hinduism, she becomes the daughter of the god Daksha and his spouse Panchajani, and the consort of the sage Kashyapa.[2] In Irish as well as Hindu Mythologies, there is Danu. If we observe well, there is always, a small, but a link between every ancient religions. Every ancient religions are polytheistic, and many deities of different religions are quite similar. But whatever, according to me, Hinduism is the best. Its true. Hinduism can tell all those things, which no religion can tell.

I'm an atheist by western and Christian/Muslim standards, but when I read about Hinduism, the overall Hindu concepts of all living beings as manifestations/parts of a pervading conscious nature of the cosmos matches up quite closely with my own views in many ways. I'm still trying to figure out how to conceptualize the nature of sentience and how unified a possible underlying consciousness might be (as opposed to consciousness being something that only occurs in in bits at a time and there is no ultimate single mind). But still, Hinduism (and Buddhism as well) both have very strong similarities to my own way of thinking. So I wonder if some Hindus would consider me to not be an atheist since their notion of God is different from the west.

Superb!!! Our brothers and sisters from India are awesome! I am from Europe, and that makes me Indo-European, I feel very close to Indian people because we used to share so much in common. Before Christianity we used to believe in many gods, and I think it's a big loss for us. We now see our ancient religions as "myths" and "superstitions" like it's cool and yet ridiculous. But as this cool gentleman that made the videos, we simply focus on the wrong usage. The point is not to be "right" or "true", this concept cannot be understood by humans, but what we need so that all of us find a divine reflection of who we are. Well done I really like the video!! :) Have a great day!!

Here I am giving the a bit summary of Vedanta to remove confusion regarding pluralism of God- Ultimate Brahma is only reality, it is without form, without any material quality (like Hegel and Spinoza's god in western world) etc. Each body has holy spirit which is pure a and similar to Brahma. Soul is itself Brahma but when spirit associated with body(form with material world), as a material quality, spirit forgot the real nature of its purity and start take participation in this material world. It causes for the sad, happiness, frustration etc.. So this cause for the bondage of spirit......So how we can find the liberation.??? Spirit + Soul is a finite one who is willing to find infinite one (Brahma) while spirit is itself a infinite. So here comes the role of different god. Vedant and Bhagvad Gita propounded that there are many path which are different path to reach one destination. So people make their own ideal god according to their own comfort way (like-Lord Rama for idealistic person, Lord Krishna for realistic persons, Durga Goddess to remark victory of good over bad etc etc ..) who had done remarkable work based on their some principles based on like- truth, honesty, welfare and serving people etc)which become an ideal way to find the liberation. Their path principles become the bench mark and people like to follow their path to find the liberation. But again How a spirit can realize the true nature of its purity i.e. Brahma. Actually these refined pure commandments and principles help and cause for the removal of ignorance (material qualities) for true nature of its spirit and when these principles follow then it starts realising its true nature and ultimately it realises its own real nature ie. Brahma himself.

Believe Epified has tried to portray that all creation is manifestation of God , so also the deities . Its like a when we want to perceive sun through its reflection in a water pot of different forms . Sun is one but it has manifested itself through its reflection in different water pots . Congratulate Epified for its simplistic approach but in some cases simplistic approach may create ambiguity . Further request to mention God (the trinity) and Deities (Demi Gods) separately to avoid confusion .

This was actually very interesting. It reflects my own beliefs a little bit as well. I am not Hindu but I believe that there are an infinite amount of gods in the universe as well as one major god that is literally the universe and reality as we know it. My belief is that this major god doesn't care what we do or how we live and will simply exist even after Humanity fades into history and is forgotten completely. A bleak outlook but one I believe very strongly in.

Exodus says "I AM THAT I AM' meaning I am the supreme infinite soul everywhere but I can MANIFEST to what the finite mind perceives me to be due to their limited senses. Simple analogy is the story of the 3 blind men and the elephant. 3 blind men were asked to feel and describe an elephant. The 1st blind man who felt the tail described it as long and narrow. . The 2nd blind man who felt the ear described it as flat and thin. The 3rd blind man who felt the leg described it as thick and round. All 3 were not wrong because each had a different experience of the same elephant due to their limited senses. Same applies to us humans and our different concepts of the same one infinite supreme soul.

It's a wonderful channel. However, I personally believe Hinduism is letting a person to choose a god based on it's own characteristics, which means the person will not update itself in future since it's god is according to itself as it is, no matter if it's bad or good. On the other hand, religion with monotheism focuses on a generalization of standards which all people should fall under, which seems to be tough but it nourishes a person all over it's lifetime. Although it's a complex issue to describe, but yet good to be discussed. Kudos to the makers of these videos and guys please keep on your good work, it's really good to have knowledge from these sources.

It's nice answer to those who criticise Hindu Gods, Hindu philosophy. There is a also one group in Hindus who follow Charvaka, ies who do not believe any God. Thanks.

Although the word "Polytheism" is not right for describing Hinduism. Pluralism (not many Gods, many ways to the same God) is a more accurate term. However I liked the content of the video..! It delivers the message.
