Kudos to him for being a stand-up guy. Most guys wouldn't go 5 miles to support there kid, let alone move half way around the world. Then to have the relationship not work out with the mother, but still support the kid, that says something about his character.

Since I have moved to Philippines, my stress level has gone from 98% to 30%. I AM rent free, debt free, bill free, and most important, stress free. My only two expenses are, my food expense and helping my Wife's Family only. And those two expenses are just pocket change for me. If I do help someone with money, I only help those that never ask. If anyone ask to borrow money, the answer is always no. I have to help myself first, before I help others second. And my Wife's Family always comes before anyone one else. Whenever someone asks to borrow. My first thought is, why are they not thinking of these sort of things for their future. Plus they will never come up with it to ever pay it back.

As expensive or as cheap! Try that in the US. It is a big challenge. I have been visiting the PI for over 20 yrs. Cities are expensive, while the province is cheaper. After Covid, it feels like wages are NOT keeping up. They never have. The PI is much more expensive too. Still cheaper, but depends on your lifestyle. If you can do without AC, an occasional power outage. Maybe you don’t need transport. Use public, or walk. I think if you have a foreigner lifestyle in the PI, there is not much difference. A little cheaper. I am 50. I have enough, but I wouldn’t be traveling every weekend, or the AC would be off most of the time.

His suggestions were met with ridicule. Look, he is stating, meet the ladies in person. Not on an app. Implying that his partner is not a "good" girl is not only ignorant but offensive. Western women are known for being "slutish" are there some good ones? Yes, they might even sleep with their partners before marriage also. Most do. The Philippines is NOT your culture. Get over it. A lot of filipinas are family oriented and motivated, with conservative values. They too are looking for a decent partner. So, go play in Pampanga, Angeles, Olongapo or Phuket. But a bar girl, as in any country generally, NOT always, are a bar girl.

Chad, let me get this right. He left NY to go there because of the low cost of living, better weather and to find a girl. Let's just get right to it. He went there for the girl. It's low cost of living if you come from NY. There are no jobs in the PI and many overseas workers go abroad. You need to have income. As for the weather then that's funny because it gets very hot in the PI and electricity and AC are expensive and nobody has it. They don't have sidewalks or toilet paper for that matter. The real reason why people go there is for the women and if you are 70 you can find a 20-year-old if you have the money. You can go to any warzone country and find the same. Go the PI and leave your money there. GIve it to the 20 year old and her family. With any luck they can all make to NY after the guy is dead.
