With TBC we will be replacing much of our gear, some items though, don't go out of fashion just because we cross the Dark Portal!

WillE, thanks for the great content as always. As mentioned below, Fetish of the Sandreaver (70% threat reduction for 20 secs) will still be very useful. Lifegiving gem for warriors will remain relevant forever. All the ZG trinkets will remains useful. Also niche defensive trinkets like Styleen’s. WillE, we hope you will be making these videos all the way through TBC classic too!

Don't forget about Glyph of Deflection from Sapphiron. It's nearly equal to the Gnomeregan Autoblocker so you can save some badges. That was also good even into WotLK especially for bug tanking on Anub'arak in ToGC. Also Styleen's is a solid tanking trinket that has some staying power in the beginning tier of content.

I'd point out the vanilla cenarion bags recipes, there's one for herbs (huge 30smt spaces) and one for enchanting as well. pretty hard to craft, but not terrible either

Styleen's is one of the best items mitigation trinket's for Shield wearing tanks. Most trinkets have pure Stam on them, so having something that has the block chance and value along with defense is pretty bomb from what I remember.

Block value is more important than block rating, since you have shield block skill giving you 75% chance to block. Thus the badge trinket is better just give you block value, block more and shield slam hit harder.

In terms of gear, I had a Warrior tank in full T3 go through the levelling process and still had a good portion of that gear at 70. The Defense trinket from Hellfire elite quest was the first item I replaced but the blues from the 70 normal dungeons (Slabs, Steamvaults, SH and TK) were sidegrades at best, kept just in case to mix around with the T3 gear to hit 490 Defense. Sun Eater was the first tank weapon I got and even then it was only just better than the Naxx one I had.

ZG weapon oils are still used in TBC. The oils that were introduced in TBC are actually worse statswise, especially the healing one. Also stratholme holy water can be used but they share CD with drums. I used them alot on my protection pally.

My personal experience with high spirit and blue dragon card was really good! I found that my down time was low and I had more Mana during bosses (compared to other healers in raid).

But WillEs videos arent random background with talking- he makes what is on screen synced with what he is talking about. Only way I would see for those 2 hour videos happening is if somebody from audience would help WillE with syncing, footage, ect.

I'd like to see some melee items added. Just from the top of my mind I think the following will hold some fairly relevant value at least early on. Thunderfury (becasue thunderfury, especially for warrior tanks who somewhat struggle with AoE threat in dungeons) Edgemaster's (turns into expertise which is great for DPS and huge for threat) The Hungering Cold (also expertise) Styleens DFT (so overstatted) Kiss of The Spider Slayer's Crest (mini Bloodlust Brooch) Badge of the Swamguard (this trinket is really slept on by the masses in classic and arguably deserves its own video, I believe it will be strong in TBC too but yet to see) Fetish of the Sandreaver

I can say that Might of Menethil is on of the beast items. I went to TBC databases and you will need either to craft epic weapons or get a raiding weapon to replace it, because it even surpasses the axe that Kael Thas drops from the sunwell dungeon. That is how good it is.

Excellent Video! I have read a lot of differents things about ignore armor trinkets from Classic. Apparently no vhange on value so it seems very strong, in Pvp, Pve ? Badge of the swarmguard is a good one. Please enlight us about it.

My personal pickings of Items from classic to TBC are: Nelation's Tear Styleens (in combination with gnomeregan auto-blocker) Blue Dragon the Libriam from Naxx with 83+ heal on FoL (thought you get 81 in Nagrand) if you cant provide a blessing of light in your raid compsition its (imho) better then anything before BT

LOL Portals deck! While it was never game-changing as far as my arena rating was concerned, it was always hilarious and awesome when it procced. I can't count how many times I got a hate whisper about me hacking because they had no idea this trinket even existed or flat out forgot about it.

You can't swap gear during an Arena match in TBC. So no trinket switching. This was changed early on, because people were swapping to Shadow Resist gear to deal with Locks

Some of the set bonuses were stupid good for various things too. Hunter and Warlock T2 5 piece was extremely good for soloing elite quest mobs or just grinding before you got higher level items. Tons more stam and resistances. I remember taking out a Fel Reaver with a warlock friend before we got to max level just to try it out. Pet tanks FTW!

The ZG trinkets are worth a mention as well, especially the priest one which allows for an insane amount of burst healing. At the cost of lots of mana but fights haven't lasted long enough to go oom in classic and I doubt early BC will be any different.

The problem with the HCH is that it was nerfed in later stages of TBC to provide Haste Rating. In early patches it was still percentage based. Unfortunately, it’s save to assume we will get itemization from the final patch, making HCH considerably worse.

When looking @ on use items. Almost everything in TBC is on a 2 min cd The trinket cd of classic items is all over the place. 2 minutes being the rare ones coming from later content while early classic trinkets vary from 5-30 minute cds The Kel Thuzad quest item is not rly an issue. Saphiron's shoulder enchants are still BIS in TBC. Ppl made their weekend naxx raid for it 14 years ago - and even though some will want to take a break from farming naxx while we wait for TBC. The grind will be on shortly afterwards. You can think of naxx like ZG for what its worth. A bis enchant drop dungeon you will farm till the end of TBC

Free Action Potions are useful for anything in raids that have CC even in the later expansions. We used them all the time for Rotface heroic on Lordaeron for the ooze tank. The same with Scarab Brooch with Sindragosa heroic. Scarab is probably why we got Glowing Twilight Scale from Halion, so people wouldn't have to farm AQ for WotLK content lol.

I've played TBC and raided black temple and Sunwell, and I have not known half of those items. Even gear charts guides never mentioned most of those. one thing that I've used constantly as Tankadin was Demonic Rune, it was glorious for mana regen since it did not shared cooldown with mana potion. Damn now I wonder how BuffaRaid tank would work in TBC. might not be as effective since smaller raid size, but who knows.

They're already fairly valuable since they require Gromsblood and Ghost Mushroom to make, two of the most expensive vanilla herbs. That price is going to become pretty ridiculous because nobody will want to farm vanilla herbs in TBC.

Devilsaur tooth for guaranteed pet crit on BM hunters, can be activated and swapped out off before fight in PVE. Shame that Devilsaur eye was BiS for so long in classic so almost no one picked it up as quest-reward.

You forgot Fetish of the sand reaver, on use trinket from AQ40. Reducing threat by 70% for 20 seconds. Combined with Blessing of Salvation, which both factions will have access to in TBC. You're only doing 21% threat, before talent modifiers. For a warlock doing AOE with seed of corruption, this can be insanely useful. Not exactly useless on a mage, but in TBC, Warlocks are the masters of AOE.

The black book is rather impressive because it is one of the few Pre-Fight trinkets in the game. For those who do not know: If you swap out a trinket after using it, the buff it give you disappears from your character. But since the black book buffs your pet ... it remains. So you can use on the pull timer, switch trinket and get the big damage increase for your demon for a few seconds AND also another on-use trinket to use.

I think the warrior ZG enchant is worth looking into. TBC mitigation enchant: +16 parry rating, +17 dodge rating ZG enchant: +10 stam, +7 def rating, +15 block rating Depending on the meta of course, but if tanks actually wear shields in TBC, block rating is an insane stat as well as defense (if the meta is actually about hitting the def cap)

def rating is worse in metigation than parry/dodge, block rating is irrelevant since you use shield block anyways, 10 stam....yea not as good as the avoidance in my opinion. might have some uses for hydros, illidan flame tanks.

Yeah, I meant block value instead of block rating, which is a super strong stat for TBC (since it gives you both threat and mitigation) It's basically a question of whether you want avoidance vs soak+threat It also gives you more gear flexibility while hitting defense cap

It's a good thing because many of these items are pre-raid biss and you can be sure that many people will try to get it even after classic so it's helping the old world to be relevant and people will still go old raids for it. Nothing like todays raids where not even datadisk old instances are irrelevant but patch old instances are irrelevant as well and that is just sad.

Luffa could be a good option, depending on what patch version we get of TBC. It was very useful for cheesing the garotte ability on Moroes in Karazhan, until they nerfed it (totally unfair that a lvl 49 green item can't even cheese a lvl 70 raid boss, lol).

Blizzard completely nerfed TF's proc about a week after the first Magtheridon kill in TBC. They then buffed Imp TClap so that it mimicked the effect. Once this happened quite early in TBC TF was replaced by A LOT of items.

Scarab Brooch is so dumb that it was used in WOTLK as well. It’s shield was *still* 15% and it stacks with Valanyr. It was used on the world first heroic LK kill IIRC because it was just that dumb. Thanks slime boss

Thunderfury is still better than most weapons in outlands thanks to the aoe proc. Tanks were literally swinging it in black temple. It's not really obtainable anymore because no one is going to help you farm MC every week for 6 months at 70. Btw many items are still competitive despite being nerfed. The hand of justice for instance is still better than lower level outlands trinkets. Many raid purples from classic can last you until 70 or close to it. But they are hardly worth the time to obtain anymore when you can go 60-70 in a week.

Molten Core scope gives more stats than TBC one. It's hit, though - so it might not be the most useful stat. Molten Core sharpening stones are, in my opinion, better, as + damage scales poorly with slow weapons. When TBC was launched, Shaman T2 2-piece bonus was so good it was often used.

Started an alt (again) in a desolate server to get used to how game will be once TBC is out. I hope we get to keep classic servers! Were i am leveling at, there is a total population on ally side, in reasonable to peak hours from 40 to 99... Never seen a 3 digit total! Usually all i need is a /who 1-59 and another /who 60. I like it!

Private servers usually had CoH proc BD per spell hit not spell cast. This was always non sense. BD is still decent... but BT trinkets are just plain better.
