|ABOUT|
I live and knit in Southern Ontario with my husband and my terrier. The name kuriaknits comes from my last name - Kurian. Kurian has Indian and Syrian origins and I feel lucky every day that my husband shared it with me.

The sound of the highway, during the summer when outside, it's a sound I've been accustomed to. But being outside is what I quite enjoy when the weather is ideally warm and sunny. It makes knitting or crafting quite therapeutic

One of my absolute favorite sweaters got felted in the laundry by mistake and I love it! I get compliments on it all the time. It was very oversized to begin with so it fits quite well now.

I think you are so much fun to watch! You are such a talented knitter. Thanks for being genuine. I watch your “podcast”, “broadcast”, “video blog” or whatever because you are real, and talk about something I love. Who cares what you call it or if you don’t pronounce something the way I do once in a while. Why do people have to be so picky?

Omg thanking you so much for the Chiagoo swivel cable warning!!! I have found the knit pro 360 swivels to be awesome and they're compatible with the lykee needles as well ☺️

I’m watching this with envy that you can knit right now. My needles broke yesterday and I have to wait for my new ones to come in the mail before I can finish my shawl

I've really wanted to knit a cabled pullover for a while. I have one that I knit in my early 20's (eek, almost 40 yrs ago!)...I couldn't find a pattern I liked, so I took a plain pattern and inserted different cables, etc, into it...I was so proud of myself. I was also proud that the yarn was bought at a grocery store for $11. Yup, it was 100% acrylic, and of course it stretched massively...so much so that I couldn't even wear it. Lately I became aware of a lovely yarn, John Arbon Appledore DK...I ordered directly from John Arbon because I couldn't find it in Canada...I bought a pink colour called Pig Snout 😄. Then Sari Nordlund published her Aurelia....perfect! Wish me luck! Love all your WIPs...I think I'll have to try the Sweater no.15 🥰

Omg I feel like I never hear anyone say they love DPNs. I do too! I use magic loop sometimes but I love my DPNs.

Lol the person who told you how to pronounce cognac didn't know themselves. Cognac is pronounced con-yak. It's a weird one as the g is completely silent. Anyway, love your Oversized Seasons Cardigan and even though I have been too intimidated by Fisherman's Rib before, think I will need to look into it for that cardigan

Those fingerless gloves look absolutely perfect! It also looks like they would be a good idea to finish up leftover yarn 👌🏼

Thanks for the review of the chiagoo flexi. I was considering them since I do love my Chiagoo red cable sets. I also appreciate when you mentioned the neck on a pattern you made was coming up at the front. I find that so annoying when I like the rest of a sweater especially if I could have changed it if I knew ahead of time. If you check page 26 of the Tulip Guernsey it says the back has one more tulip pattern than the front. I enjoy your podcasts no matter how you pronounce things or what you call them

sometimes soaking a slightly felted garment in water and a cup of hair conditioner works. The conditioner relaxes the fiber. Maybe worth to try. You knit what you want to knit ,with what you want to knit it with, and you really don't have to care about whatever anybody says.

Great podcast episode! And as someone who has been to Cognac, France many many times because I had family who lived there, it's pronounced cone-yak. Hilarious that some awful person felt the need to jump on and bare their ignorant ass in your comments! 🤣🤣 Good luck with the move - moving is just the worst isn't it? So stressful. Slay those oral exams too!

Good luck on your oral exams! Laughing at the 'knitting podcast' section - I had the exact same thought process before begrudgingly also naming my channel. Also still obsessed with your Pippin Sweater but you already know that :)

I “full” garments, fingerless gloves, sweaters by wearing them in the shower and soaping up and scrubbing them on me until they start to tighten up to what I like. Then you can rinse and its not overfelted or overfilled per se

I really love all your project and feel the sudden urge to add some (just like 5 or 6 pairs) fingerless gloves to my winter wardrobe 😅 About your sweater 15 - I vaguely remember you saying in one of your previous episodes that your armholes came out too big (which I can relate to, my row gauge is usually off as well!) and you fixed that with a little knitted patch. If you didn't take those out, maybe that's why you weren't able to pick up the required amount of stitches?

The anorak is meant to be worn instead of a jacket. You wear thermals and wool sweaters under the anorak so basically you dont take it on and off, its like a jacket in and of itself. That being said you can cut your anorak to make it into a cardigan
@kuriaknits

I wear it this way! Sorry I wasn’t clear. I mostly wear it for walks so the taking off is when I get home. Still a challenge for some reason 😅

Im making the exact same cardigan with red plutolopi and its super scratchy, held double, and it caused tendinitis of my left thumb knitting it so I’ve slowed down on knitting it, working on other sweaters. Interesting you dont find it scratch., held double its very rustic, i assume totally waterproof and weatherproof, a hearty sweater but no way is mine soft

I had those exact chiagoo flexitips... they are absolutely horrible. I ended up buying a better set called Seeknit. Highly recommend those instead. I got the bamboo set... and do not regret it at all.

I wouldn’t recommend a dna test. It seems to me they just pull stuff out of a hat because really, how are you going to check. He looks like he’s got Shitzu, if he’s friendly, or Lhasa Apso if he only loves you…lol!

Haha sorry to say your "cognac" pronunciation is still a bit off. There shouldn't be a hard G sound in it, more like "cone-yak"
