When I use the headphone jack, I’ll be able to monitor my own voice BUT will I be able to hear my desktop audio as well? Or just mic monitoring?

First off, I've been checking out quite a few of the budget mic videos out there, and quite frankly, your's are the absolute best. Several factors in my choice is that you don't come off as a used car salesman. lol You go over multiple aspects, and in your comparison video's you go back and forth and back and forth. So we can hear the differences. I'm still waiting for my 401 to arrive via Amazon, but I am waiting with much anticipation. Your comparison with the AO4 was the selling point for me. I think they are pretty similar to each other, but the pm401 has the headphone jack and the mute button, so if those are something that you want, I would go with the pm401

I have never personally tried the aupm422 but they are probably pretty similar. It looks like one thing that the aupm422 has that the aupm401 doesn't have is a mic gain knob, so you can control you input volume from the mic.

I use a cheap USB condenser mic. So I dont have any interface (I havent used any in my life). So when I record with my mic there hell of a latency and theres no option for reducing it. Will upgrading to this mic fix my problem?

Hi, I have tested out a few cheap USB condenser mics that have had huge latency issues and I think the issue is the cheap sound cards they have. However latency issues can also be caused by the computer you are plugged into. If your problem is in fact being caused by your microphone, then yes upgrading to this mic will solve your problem.

Yeah you should be able to lower the mic sensitivity. If you are using windows I think they way you do it is you need to go into control panel, then click on hardware and sound, then click on sound, then click on recording, then you should be able to click on the mic and click on properties and then click on levels and then you can adjust the slider for the microphone

So the main advantage that the PM401 has over the other two mics is that it has a headphone jack and a mute button. So if those are things that you would want in your mic I would definitely recommend going with that one. However, if you don't need those, the PM461TR is really good for the price. I recently used it to record a voiceover for one of my videos and I think it did a great job for a mic that costs around $30. I haven't tried out the K669B, but I just watched a review on it and it actually also seems pretty good lol. So over all, these mics are all pretty good, but personally I would go with the Maono PM401 just because of that headphone jack and mute button

@@viaignacio It mostly matters on how you want to record. The AU-903 looks like it has cardioid and omnidirectional. Most of the time if you are only recording yourself, you would only need the cardioid polar pattern. The omnidirectional polar pattern I guess could be used if you want a quick live recording of several people at once around the mic

You're welcome! I hope the video helped 🙂So I have never personally tried the AU-PM422 out, but I've watched a review someone else did and I think it sounded pretty similar to the AU-PM401. In my opinion they are both good mics, but it looks like the AU-PM422 has a built in gain knob on the front of the mic, so if that is something that you want I would say go with the AU-PM422, but if you are just interested in the audio quality, you can save some money by going with the AU-PM401. Hi Aedyn, yeah it can be a little tricky to get the pop filter to sit right, but if you go to around 3:06 in the video you can kind of see where I was attaching it. You just kind of attach it to the arm in a way where you can get it to sit right in front of the mic

In my opinion pretty much all condenser mics will pick up some background noise and you can try to combat it with the the mic placement and your input volume setting. If you are really concerned about picking up too much background noise, like if you are recording in a somewhat noisy environment, you may want to consider getting a dynamic mic instead. I reviewed this one called the Samson Q2U. Although, the thing is that this mic has the mute button and headphone jack on the mic for 0 latency monitoring and the au-a04 does not, but if you don't really care about that stuff, I think you should be fine with either one. And in all likeliness, both mics are using the exact same capsule and interface components, so yeah, they're probably identical except for those added features.

I'm not actually sure haha. I'll have to test that out and see. I'm guessing that if your input level is kind of high, then it probably will a little bit. I think the key here is to mess around with the input volume and how close your mouth is to the microphone and also make sure that the mic isn't pointing towards the keyboard at all

I haven't tried out the Razer Seiren Mini, but I've watched a review and it actually sounds pretty decent. I personally like my PM401 and the PM401 has a headphone jack and a mute button, so if those are things that you need then I would recommend going with the PM401

Hi, I have a review of the a04 here if you want to check it out kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4moopSIhNuaa7c but in my opinion, I think the 2 mics are pretty similar in audio quality, however, this one has the mute button on the mic and the headphone jack on the mic for 0 latency monitoring, but if you don't really care about those things I would say you are good with either one. The a04 is around $10 less expensive though

Hey sorry to hear that, I'm not sure why this might be happening to your microphone. at 3:37 in the video I show what the mic sounds like and I didn't have any static or white noise, there was maybe just a tiny bit of a hiss in the background but it isn't very noticeable and I didn't do anything to get rid of it. Have you tried maybe plugging it into different USB ports?

Hi you can plug the headset into either the mic or your computer. Are you using a headset with a mic? You will just need to select the audio input device as this mic, the PM401

Do you have your speakers on while using this mic? You must have your speakers turned off and if you would like to monitor your audio you will need to wear headphones

So I haven't tried out either of those Fifine mics, but I have tried out a few other mics by Fifine and I think they are a pretty good brand. However, I like how the Maono AU-PM401 has the headphone jack on the mic, so personally I would go for the PM401, but the Fifine mics are good too

Thank you! Personally I have never used discord myself. It's a program for gaming right? So, I guess I'm not really sure if discord would do anything to the audio, like compress it or something to make it streamable. In my video I recorded it into Logic pro, which is an audio recording software and that how the mic sounded right out of the box. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help

I don't have an ipad so I haven't personally tested it out on one, but I did test it out on my iPhone XR using an OTG adapter and it seemed to work fine, so I'm guessing it will also work on an iPad and it should be the same process. Hi, sorry to hear that. Maybe I can help you troubleshoot. Did you check to make sure that in your system preferences, under sound, that your input volume is turned up?
