I saw this through the steam workshop. Really cool project for a series on youtube. I will for sure keep watching the rest!

Revelstoke made the game "click" for me. Built my first big city on it, until my PC couldn't handle much more. Fast foward a few years, I'm now at 1000+ hours played according to Steam. Thank you!

Really excited to see this! Seems really interesting so I'll have to make time to watch it all the way through. Because I am planning to make a small country backroads map its just perfect that you decided to do this. Thanks & Cheers!

Interesting the different perspectives people can have. I have to get the terrain right first. Because I don't like the artificial, overly-geometric road layouts that come from building on a flat map. The map I'm working on now is based on a real world heightmap. That gives me terrain I have to work around. As a result, the networks I've laid out look organic as they flow around the random obstacles. Plus, it's a fun challenge keeping the rail under a 1% grade on a hilly map.

I totally agree with what is said here. Most of the Workshop maps are disappointments...When I started making maps three years ago, from the start I tried to do things right. And to do this, you have to devote time to it, more than a hundred hours... I can publish several maps a year because I am lucky enough to live in France. (6 weeks of vacation + 12 holidays + 52 days off + 52 Sundays) . I can't use a real location as a starting point either. But, I can't get anywhere, either with a large empty green square....so I use one of the many mediocre maps available and I embellish it....

1:50 just getting started here, but why are the roads curving that much if there is nothing to bypass? i would never make my roads longer and use more materials than absolutely necessary if i would build a road..? oh well, i'll continue watching and see if this topic will be addressed :)

I just looked at it. It was a long time ago but Lots of reasons. The curvy section is hugging the hillside. I also needed the highway to go over the rail to complete the tunnel I had built. I am laying the highway in a manner that I think is beneficial to how the player will place their interchanges aka the straight sections

Sure i-9900K CPU 64 GB Ram Gigabyte RTX 2700 Super Everything in SSDs and M.2s Liquid cooled With the recent advances in visuals i would actually tell you my graphics card is the thing j should be looking at upgrading. When I went from 32 Gig ram to 64 gig I did not notice much of a change
