Starting with the Look frame is a great idea for almost all average weekend cyclists and any upgrades to the quoted spec I would make would be the wheels - Ryots or Zipp 303 for me. I prefer mechanical groupset and cabling really doesn't bother me or make much of a difference in aero performance below 40km/h, plus its sooo much easier to take your bike on a plane when the handlebar and stem can be removed easily.

My build was nearly scuppered when I couldn't get hold of a longer back nut for the front calliper. Searched high and low and eventually found one.

I'm now 34yo, 187cm, 110kg The 58cm scott addict edurance geometry frame is great at what it does. Rides smooth as butter. But it's not what I would call racy. I don't want whipet a race frame that I'll snap in half because I weigh 200 times its weight. I want a solid frame that doesn't flex when I'm sprinting and a geometry that won't leave me with a chimney. The geo on the look looks perfect, but it doesn't seem to have the stout but Still race dna I'm looking for. So I'm just going to hold off until I can touch my feet, sans breathing difficulties haha
