Imagine being one of those "it's only a Mustang if it's a V8" guys who owns one of the Coyote V8's then meets one of these at a stop light. Would pay serious money to see that guy's loser face after that inevitable race.
@Sheepdog4169 жыл бұрын
+coinsagE46m3 Sure the ecoboost would win, but even MAP said that the car was a ticking time bomb running 500hp on the stock block. Serious money would have to go into the ecoboost to have it run reliably at 500hp.
@coinsagE46m39 жыл бұрын
Sheepdog416 That's true, sure, but even if the Ecoboost made even 400whp, which it could (and then some) reliably, it would still trounce the Coyote-powered Mustang by a respectable margin as it would have about 30 more whp and weigh less.
@Sheepdog4169 жыл бұрын
+coinsagE46m3 Also true, but I would rather have a stock car that is almost as fast rather than a heavily modded car that's a little bit quicker (imo).
@coinsagE46m39 жыл бұрын
+Sheepdog416 I would too. I personally would rather have the Coyote - powered Mustang than the EcoBoost any day of the week. I however have mad respect for the tunability of the EcoBoost and recognize just how fast they can get. And I think people that dismiss it simply because it doesn't have a V8, despite the power it can make, are fucking ridiculous.
@Sheepdog4169 жыл бұрын
Yeah fair enough! I have a 2015 GT and love the thing. Its definitely insane how much power you can push out of a stock 4cyl though jeez!

@JCTiggs17 жыл бұрын
The Ecoboost Mustang certainly has its place in the market. Where I live there is a $10k price difference between a base Eco vs base GT. Then you need to factor in the added cost of insurance and gas which is also expensive here. My driving is 90% city under 60 km/h. I had a 2011 GT 5.0 and I really couldn't use it anywhere. For someone in my situation who loves the look of the 2015+ design, wants the awesome and refined suspension, and only needs enough power and torque for quick burst here and there, the Ecoboost is a great bang for the buck purchase. Add a Cobb flash tune and the torque easily exceeds the Coyote motor.
@carsgunsandguitars3 жыл бұрын
This is why I chose my 2015 Ecoboost Premium performance package over a GT. The only thing I did was an Ford Racing CAI and MAP intercooler and a Cobb tune and I had a quiet street sleeper that consistently got over 30mpg on road trips for business and was as fast as GT on the street and I only paid $30k for it new. It was cheap to insure, and actually handled better than the GT due to the lighter weight over the front and squared tire size.

I’m doing the same things right now, getting a big power build set up , for 600whp-900whp , which is different then the set up for under 700whp. Big power set up uses different block and head, lower power set up also uses different block but retains the factory head which is limited to 700whp and even at those lower level your expecting head lift and air flow problems. That why anything above 650-700whp they use the 4 port ecoboost head , and the lower power is the factory head 2.3 TS head. So really depends what your goals are. Stock ecoboost mustang engine can make 400whp reliable. And only need a nx2 turbo and intercooler to be at 400whp. Above that you need to go into building and bigger turbos

Bad carbon buildup on the intake valves is the only drawback
@guthrie11818 жыл бұрын
+samuel lopes You can say that again lol. You can delete the egr system with a proper delete kit and uncheck the code with the right tuning software. Or you can just clean the valves every 40,000 miles. I have to clean mine next month. Good times.

i think most of the buildup comes from the PCV system..

Hi, I have a question. Is it worth putting all this money in it ? How much did it all cost? I'm looking to buy one of these, but not sure if I should get the eco or the Gt...
@maperformance6 жыл бұрын
You can make around 500whp on our turbo kit alone just would require a tune - engine SHOULD last for a while.
@tommycastro73576 жыл бұрын
MAPerformance U are talking on an eco boost? If so . Please explain and how much would it cost me
@maperformance6 жыл бұрын
Yes, our turbo kit starts at $3,449.99 - feel free to give us a call if you have any specific questions.

When is the track video coming,(where you guys show this car at the track)I want to know if this is a 11 second car or maybe even 10??????
@maperformance9 жыл бұрын
Mauricio Salinas We have slicks, skinnies, wheels, driveshaft, and halfshafts on the way. As soon as those are on the car and the new fuel system is done and tuned on e85 we will be hitting the track. We are hoping within the next few weeks!
@pacoflyer9 жыл бұрын
+MAPerformance I hope you guys do progressive time slips, maybe axles and slicks then add driveshaft then add skinnies then add e85. So we get an idea of progressive reductions instead of all at once and not knowing what made the biggest difference.

I think what makes mad about the ecoboost is it says 310 rwhp, but it means engine not wheel

whats the MPG looking like on this setup?
@maperformance9 жыл бұрын
toussaints1 We don't really have an accurate estimate at this time. Its running mixed fuel and when it's driven we beat the snot out of it! When it was on pump gas we were around 23-25 MPGs with very aggressive driving! BUT because the turbo is bigger it doesn't demand as much fuel during part throttle driving so it should be getting roughly around the same or better as stock because the fuel system hasn't changed from stock and again, the fuel demand is less.
@23reasonz9 жыл бұрын
+MAPerformance In other words, you guys are running 114+? I really doubt the 23-25 mpg claim with the added intake of air for that HP level. Also this video was put out in June, did it ever get any runs at the track? 1/4 mile times would be awesome to see. I really don't care much for dyno results (dyno machines vary and can give varied hp claims). I like real world results. Other than that, you guys did a really nice job with fab and parts. Would like to see performance runs....

By the time you add up ALL these mods and labour at a good performance shop,(plus the cost of the car) you might be damn close in price to a used 13-14 gt500 !!!!!!!
