This is the best video/demo of any Drum Co. I've ever seen and I've been playing professionally for 40 years, and mapex always has the right formula. The Demo quality sound is great, The Short and precise explained detail of the wood combo is exact. So I give this mapex video ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Interesting tunings. Definitely on the higher side. I can dig it. And as far as Mapex itself goes... Talk about a come-up. This company is the best-kept secret in the industry.

Mapex is a fantastic drum. They -EVERY feature available -MOST DURABLE -Most Pleasing sounding SUSTAIN -The fundamental Note is very clear and concise AND does NOT wash out into a wobbly sustain -The LOWEST PRICE on the Market I would love to do a test market of buyers only, in a room with the top kits from all the companies with all brand identification and lugs were hidden just to see which drum company would sell the most units. I would not be surprised at all of Mapex won out The key is testing people who are actually purchasing with their own money.

Please do not discontinue the Exotic drums, or how about a red sparkle finish for the saturns?

I’ve noticed the Saturn IV MH kits and Saturn V Exotic Studioease kits have decreased in price. Is there any particular reason for this? I saw the Saturn V exotic studioease for $1,650 and the Saturn IV MH for $1,550... they both use the same wood, both have same diameter toms and bass (the V MH has shorter floor toms) both are 5 piece kits... i currently play on a Mapex pro m so for me this would be a Great upgrade in my personal opinion. But I’m just a little unsure as to why they went from being $2,100 plus drum kits to dropping down to $1550 and $1650? Also I’m not sure which to get... I play rock, pop, covers of rap songs and progressive rock. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated... I recently got the Mapex Warbird with the maple/walnut combo and I must say I was blown away at how great the snare sounded. It made me fall in love with the maple/walnut combo and now after seeing this price drop I’m even more interested in getting either the Saturn 4 or 5...

I think what all drum set reviews kinda miss out on is having someone play the drumset that belongs to the group that they wanna say the product to. They either hire one of the greats but most of them just sound good on anything or they hire, no offense to the gentleman doing the review, someone that doesn’t really know how to make drums sound good or at least make them sound the way they are intended to sound

A decade ago Mapex was of the worst quality and sound. As far as pro's and semi professional drummers that was the consensus. Now, they have made a complete 180. In sound, construction, variety of wood specie's and not to mention innovations like their new bearing edges. For the price, they are now a front runner in the industry. Good on you Mapex, keep the great gear and ideas coming 🥁🤘

Was that the opinion only a decade ago? I don't know about the full kits but I remember my drum teacher having a Black Panther snare more than a decade ago, like around 2006-2010, and him having nothing but good things to say about it. It was actually his gigging snare that he'd play with a Pearl Master's kit. Those snares were getting good reviews in magazines back then too.

Mapex didn’t make the best for a while, but I invite anyone to say that isn’t true for any of the major companies sans Sonor Germany. This kit is dope. Saturns are stupid good.

Well according to that bearing edge graphic, my Saturn IV's are pretty much garbage?.🗑😳😐😞
@Drewp064 жыл бұрын
Your Saturn IV will also have the Soniclear bearing edge. They introduced this edge when the Saturn IV came out!
@eastbaymauiboy4 жыл бұрын
@@Drewp06 Well I have the kit in my possession, and it does not have the soniclear bearing edge. The edge is definitely sharp (maybe 45°) and runs all the way from top to bottom. It's not rounded over like the soniclear. Mine's definitely a Saturn IV, in "Exotic Amber Maple Burl", which was not on a Sat III but was continued on the Sat V. Here's a link. Second paragraph down, below the blue kit photo... mapexdrums.com/us/news/mapex-introduces-saturn-v-by-adding-their-award-wi/

EastBay MauiBoy Interesting. I have a Saturn IV kit in storage with soniclear edges, it’s the same Mapex kit Matt Halpern was using a few years back with Periphery
@billmint8122 Жыл бұрын
@@Drewp06 Saturn IV does not have the Soniclear edges. You are mistaken. They were introduced on the Saturn V and now they are also on the Armory series.
