That big, fat, dark and warm sound of the rack toms. The canonlike floortom and bass drum. Love my Saturn kit.

It’s amazing how far along Mapex has come from being seen as an off-brand, mediocre quality kit maker in the early 90’s to putting out some of the top tier instruments on the market.

I had an early/mid 90's Saturn kit (the very first version I think), and it wasn't bad at all. It was my first kit bought used in 95 (I don't know how old it was then). It sounded very well, the only thing I may complaint about was the hardware, but it made its job after all...

Every time there’s a new mapex video I absolutely fall I love with how the toms sound. The only reason I haven’t purchased an Armory series kit or a Saturn kit is because I already have an Orion series which was the best kit mapex ever made.

Besides being one of the best values for the money all around, I love the fact that these things sing at such a low volume. Some drums you have to throttle to make them sound good. This seem to respond well at every volume and tuning...Way to go Mapex:) TY Drummer's Review!

These are nice kits. My main kit is a Sonor Prolite but I picked up a 2019 5 pc Saturn in Cherry Mist when they went on sale. The fit and finish is about as good as it gets. The tom sizes give you the articulation of maple kit without losing the lower fundamental tones of the walnut.

@@Rifle56 thanks for responding! That makes sense, and I actually used similar reasoning to order a Saturn kit back in December. Looking at a nearly 7 month wait but it will be worth it I'm sure. i have a mapex saturn v red strata and the sound of the toms is better than most profesional drums. i compared with dw and Starclassic, and the toms of the saturn v have more sustain and "pre ecu" sound. this video is horrible. the toms are not tuned correctlt and the drummer is playing on the edge of the tom , making a horrible sound. check other videos of saturn and you will see the difference. (sorry by my english)
