Keefe was a good coach for us, but he was always still looking for that two weeks from the playoffs each year and never found it. Chief wants it right out of training camp and you can tell he'll get it

Woll has shown he doesn't fold when put in big games. From my layman's eyes, he's a very good goalie. I suspect he'll be even better with the new focus on defensive responsibility.

@FrankD23 well last time he got hurt was when he was catching a puck at the end of game 6 and it was a nothing play, so I agree the defense did not help last year, some of the onus is on him.

Woll looks decent but I found he was always too far out at the sides of the net. When he does that, he has to go that much further to get back. Although he usually does it, he's far more likely to get injured

@@Thisisbailie Putting any player on waivers, unless absolutely necessary, would be ridiculous. You're best off to find a trade parter, atleast you'd get something out of losing them. Alex isn't a proven NHL player and to get rid of actual players, even if 4th line, doesn't make sense. If he plays anything like his brother, it's not what the team needs

Hopefully coach is accountable and hold players accountable especially with mistakes and hopefully add a reword system by giving others more ice time. This team can play great when the stars don’t get all the ice time. Look at the playoffs in the games when top players didn’t play. So long as those guys adjust there games then team can do well. I like Cowan because he has lot of energy and spark

Much respect to Alex for his patience in waiting for his turn to play for the Leafs. It would have been great to see him in the NHL rather than the AHL. Hopefully, he gets that opportunity eventually, though we know how unpredictable life can be, especially with injuries and the challenges of realizing the NHL dream

The thing I like about Berube is that he will hold all players accountable. All the crap from the past isn't gonna fly anymore where players don't work or compete. If they won't buy into Chief's systems they will be watching from the press box star or not. Berube is a man's man this is exactly what they need they have been pampered the whole time. Sure they had Babcock but he was a goof nobody liked him bc he is a horrible person players say. Berube is a tough guy who ain't gonna let brats be entitled if Berube cannot make real men out of this group then the core is a lost cause. For 10 years they have been that way but I am an optimistic type so let's give Chief a chance to mold them into real men who want to do the little things it takes to go on a run come April/May. I will give it a fair chance as the past is the past Berube wasn't here so it deserves time to let his systems work & have them all buy in. Whoever doesn't want to buy in won't be a Leaf it is that simple. I like the moves they made on defense & in net. I hope Matthews plays with Domi for a lengthy time during the season as the chemistry was there. Nylander at center with Domi idk if that is gonna be a fit. Taking Domi away from Matthews when they click doesn't make any sense. We shall see how the lines come together for now I will be positive bc I beLEAF in Chief Berube.

I agree but ultimately Marner is too soft, doesn't do well when it counts and needs to be traded. Berube is the right coach and I like rhe guys they brought in but Marner has gotta go. They're not winning till he's traded.

I'd like to remind everyone that Willy went through the system before making it to the team. Willy was a sh*t show early on when it came to knowing where he should be, but through the years he's continued to put up points while improving his game overall.

His overall game has no improved at all. He is dangerous anywhere in front of the net when there's little to no pressure, but that's it. He still doesn't play the corners or help defensively. Hell, he rarely skates past the Leafs blue line. He got alot of breaks and breakaways because he doesn't do anything at the back end. They greatly overpaid for a player that doesn't do much. Tavares may not score as many goals but he does everything, as does Marner and Matthews.
