Well, at this moment to scoop up a fringe 20:00 min defender that will be a pending free agent is prob going to cost one of Niemala, Cowan or a 1st rounder (which is all the same cost essentially) and it doesn’t look like the team is 2 players away so I’m fine with holding and asking a few guys to waive their no-trade clauses this summer due to not being wanted anymore in the city Lol

Jones in the last 5 games: 4.09 GAA & 0.857 SCPT. Ouch. Mind you, he ran through some HOT teams in VAN, EDM & COL, also playing CGY & NYI. So there's the two-sided coin to Jones' play. till, he helped keep them from dropping down out of the playoff picture.

I am still not convinced Samsonov is "back" after only 3 games. I am also not convinced Woll is a proven 1a/1b. If I were management I would be pursuing Winnipeg's current backup Laurent Brossoit to be a tandem with Woll and ride this season out until the defensive core can be re-tooled.

There is a shortage of top end goaltenders in the league and what's available isn't much of an upgrade. A better option is to build a strong D core, something this team has never had in the Dubas/Treliving era

Can we shift gears and talk about what types of returns could be expected if the LEafs trade Bertuzzi, Brodie, and Domi at 50% retained?

Sure, with retained salary ill guess Bert and Brodie would net a 2nd OR 3rd rounder each on deadline day. Domi a 4th or a 5th In my personal opinion (as talented Marner is) to tie up 10.9 and soon to be 12 million of cap room into Marner is not a great idea in light of the fact the Leafs “chose” Nylander, so I’d say Marner and Tavares cap space need to be recouped

@@jlove8445 The issue is the LEafs will have signed at least four UFA’s by resigning their own players (Matthews, Marner, Nylander, and Reilly) over the last 2 seasons. Resigning your own players needs to be at a more reasonable price, otherwise trade them, recoup assets, and use that money on the free agent market. I will argue Matthews is exempt from that logic but each of the other ones should have been traded.

This should just keep martin n ilya together for alot more time for now and let woll heal alot longer! So he can get fully together on all areas of he's mental healthy n he's injury That's my opinion on the goalie thing

Jake Allen is probably the best of the guys that you mentioned and he's not as good as Sammy. If he's healthy physically and mentally.) I'd rather re-work our D and take our chances with Sammy and Woll Anna Jones if need be.

Hold the fort here bud, I hear you but you saying Fleury who’s 39 is better than Woll who’s younger by a fair bit and being paid less why would be better?? you want Fleury you already have jones at less ??? Why pay more for a more aged goalie I understand the playoff stuff but he’s 39?????!!!!!!!!!!!

Treliving wasn't given much to begin with either, Dumb-Ass (er, Dubas) traded a LOT of assets away & have given SO much in the top end financially, what's left to pass around for decent 2nd & 3rd liners F & D? Let alone a bonafide #1 goaltender. This is not a playoff team & won't be for another 4-5 years. Jonesy was a helpful stop-gap, a surprise one too! Here's hoping Sammy HAS RETURNED to true form!!
