If you keep them on the iron mould a few seconds longer, you shouldn't need a tool to release them - they drop off on their own. You can also drizzle over some honey and sprinkle some chopped walnuts...

What kind of oil would you recommend? My Mom used to make these when I was little, and I still have her irons and her electric skillet.
