MapleStory Shadower Bursting & Skill Rotation Guide - New Age Edition

Today we're taking a look at everything to do with a Shadower's burst and updated skill rotation now that we have 6th job available to us. My voice may sound a little off, I was sick when I recorded but I wanted to leave you guys with something useful before I disappeared overseas for a month. Hope this guide is helpful to you!

Hey, thanks so much for putting out these amazing guides. I've recently returned to Maple and found your channel, it's been super helpful and you're very good at explaining things :) You might already have one of these videos out but I haven't been able to find it but can you also please make an equip progression guide (and also perhaps show your equips)? I find it pretty difficult to know how to properly gear up nowadays, as I haven't played for a while and so much has changed.

Is this rotation optimal even if I'm using a continuous ring instead of a ror? wouldn't it be better to maximize my dark side usage through the use shadow walker and smokescreen separately?

I do not have a continuous ring to test this with. At the end of the day, try out the 3 minute rotation yourself and see if you get better damage doing one way or another.

Just curious, i have my jump on alt key, when i turned on keyboard speed and sticky keys like you suggested from previous shad burst video, I wouldn't be able to double jump. It has to be jump with an arrow direction to double jump. Should I switch my jump to a different key?

Up to you, whatever feels most comfortable. You'll eventually phase out using Sticky Keys so it depends how badly you want to switch things around for a temporary measure.

is there a time where i can use the extra charge of Maple Goddess' Blessing in the rotation? Maybe use it during partial burst? since there are 2 charges of MGB i feel that it's wasted if left unused. Don't you think so?

You can use an extra charge during your first partial burst of a fight

i've went through the attached spreadsheet, shouldn't the Erda Bind be at the 15 sec mark instead of 0? since we are using the Erda Bind right after the Origin Bind cooldown icon reach 90 sec.

That one was tough to place on the spreadsheet because of all the different scenarios you can bind with. That's one of the few cases I would say to watch the video and see what your options are, because there are so many different times and ways to bind a boss now.

thanks for the useful guide! Btw how do you look at the origin nerf on KMST? How that affect shadower s overall damage?

Tough to say since we can't play around with the numbers here. Supposedly it's relatively even in KMS, but it'll be slightly better for us since we weave faster. We'll have to wait and see for when it comes to GMS how it'll really work out.

how do you activate your buffs so quickly? is it a good idea to put them on a macro?

Is continuous ring 4 or ror4 better for shadowers? Got a Cont4 from ring box and don’t know whether to sell or keep

Cont 4 is slightly better for solo bossing, RoR4 + WJ4 are much better for party bossing. You can use both if you want.

one thing I m not sure is what role does the A1 before shadow formation plays?

It's a free casting animation (free damage) and it puts you in dark sight for your partial burst without needing to cycle a full Assassinate.

You could have included and shown when cd skip procs for smokescreen in the rotation and in the future how the new 1min cd ab link skips can be implemented too

Use both after they expire if they skip, otherwise the rotation is the same.

I'm admittedly not too familiar with how Reboot does their BA requirements (I'm a reg server player) but I believe the meta is to do a 6-minute BA to properly account for Origin skill damage.

Yeah my buffs do no activate that quickly, wtf. There is so much delay in the buffs going off

You can use the previous rotation if you aren't 6th job yet.

i see that you don't include True Arachnid Reflection and Solar Crest in the burst rotation, is it because that they are negligible?

They have long casting animations and not great damage, and also proc Fatal Strike. Use them outside the main bursting rotations

How do you get origin skill? Is it randomly from nodes or ?

Fatal strike is temporarily right ? Do u always open nodes and try to get one in deck all the time

Correct, Fatal Strike lasts for 1 week. It can also be crafted for 250 node shards, so just opening a handful of nodes is enough to replenish it. It also sells for 50 shards when it expires, so it's 200 shards per week.

Epic Adventurer is in your Hyper Skills and Maple World Goddess' Blessing is in your 5th job V matrix

How do you get the little notification that a skill is off cooldown

At the bottom of your skill menu, there's a little button that says "Note". Add the skills you want CD notifications for there.
