Thanks for sharing your survey trip. Sure beats the days when we used a compass, tape and clinometer, lol. With LIDAR growing more attainable, I can see that moving into the cave survey scene. I have to admire Jason’s cartography skills. Looks really precise. Look forward to your next post. 👍🏻

Thank you. We started out using the tape and a Suunto tandem. These newer instruments make it so much easier. The Bric4 will Bluetooth connect to a tablet and Jason could draw electronically. We wouldn't even have to call numbers back to him anymore. For now, he still prefers to hand draft but may try the digital soon just to try it out. I've always seen it as an art form. It brings the cave to life for the landowners too 😊

Really fascinating to see how survey is done. Jason is quite the carrographer! I can understand why you would want to know the path the water flows with a sand quarry being nearby it could affect water quality

This cave looks pert near a car crusher. The safety in that cave would be an issue.

This is typical cave passage for caves in this region.
