@@RdotDoyle Yeah, I can imagine, but well done here. One question: so with the Rectangle or Regular Polygon Tools, you just point, stretch, and click to make a room. At 10:16 you're talking about the Polygon Tool. You click to add a vertex, but I can't figure what to press to get it to stop; it just makes more vertices each time I click. How do you make it "make" the room like the other tools?

loved this video, can you make a video where you explain the fine details of floor and wall texturing? I.e. how to set image textures of grass or wooden flooring and also how to separate those textures from stone wall textures, such that instead of having to resize and adjust the texture itself, one might be able to use the dungeon geometry to simply cut the section off of the texture. For instance, I've had difficulty where i wanted to texture the dungeon walls a certain texture, but then when i went to apply my wood flooring, the two images were simply on top of each other, there was no way that i could see, to designate and separate wall texture and floor texture in their own boxes such that they were never interacting.

Oh I wish I could but that’s way beyond me. I honestly think it may be beyond the software as well. I might take a look at inkarnate, which is another program with more features.

Hey, I just got DS on my tablet. This video helped me out a lot. My only question is: why are my objects appearing under the floor layer and not onto like yours?

It might be different on the tablet but the layers can be tricky, but you can change their order in the bottom right, adding new or bringing them forward or back

I do enjoy using this free useful thing despite it hypothetically not lasting for all time. You can export a few different file types to use your maps offline

I love this, was frustrated finding a program, my only question is how to print this. I am trying to find a way to print just rooms bigger so my PC minis can fit. We are just starting, I am first time DM, a lot of my players are first time playing. Doing the lost mines of Phandelvin and the rooms in the first cave and the Redbrand hideout are so small that I cannot fit all the minis on it. I am trying to enlarge the room maps so we have room. Does this program do this?

Welcome to the hobby! I love LMoP, that's how I got started too. You could definitely redraw the rooms in dungeonscrawl and export them as a PNG image. You could either mess with the pixels per cell or just open the image in another program and stretch it out to fill a page. I also like an old school vinyl battle mat sometimes, and just draw the rooms onto the grid as the party uncovers stuff

I'm sure there's a more clever way using pixel settings but you can always export it as a PNG image and then resize it in another program so it's fit to a page

Ah tricky. If you have a steady hand (and I don't) you can turn the snap off on the polygon tool and free hand it. You can also crank the width up on the path tool but that will have flattened sides, giving you more of like a pill shape. There might be a smart way to approach things using subtract too, but then you're back into freehand territory

I don’t think there’s a built in way to do it but you could easily rotate the whole thing in another program after export. There’s also probably a way to get clever with the mirror tool to get there
