Mappy by My Arcade Mini Arcade Toy Review

I recently own this mini Arcade Mappy. I love it. This is really cool because this is the first time that here in the U.S, we officially finally received the Famicom version of Mappy, which is awesome. Before, we only have to rely on emulators, Famiclones, and Multicarts to play this version of Mappy, so this is a huge deal to me. The Famicom/NES version of Mappy is a great version of the game. While the original Arcade version of Mappy is the best version, the Famicom version is still great and a lot of fun. So I'm really happy we finally received through this :)

@@retrofan4963 yes I got mine for Christmas it has a USB port I took the batteries out I'm gonna play it using my tablet charger it fits perfectly I'm glad they made those with the USB port the batteries don't last long

I have both this Famicom and the Namco Museum with the Arcade Rom. I personally like the Famicom version due to it being a lot easier. I defeated the game. The only plus the Namco Museum has on the Famicom version is that you can enter your name at the end for highest scores.

@@torianmcneill3794 Nice, that's cool :) Yeah the USB is what I rely on to play myArcade Mappy, more conveniant than always relying on switching batteries all the time for it.

Thanks for the warning! First I thought that the aspect ratio was wrong. I ONLY want the real Arcade version. They should be fair and straight forward about this and they are not.

If you take the Pacman My Arcade game apart and resoder it you will find Dig Dug, Galaxian, Galaga, and yes MAPPY! There is a video online that showed this happening! This verson of Mappy is the same port used on the Ms. Pacman Plug and Play game from 2004. I used to have this.

Yes! I have seen this done with the Tiny Arcade units as well. That could be a fun project to try out as well. Thanks for your comments...

I grew up with the same Plug and Play with Mappy being my favorite of the bunch. Having this would be nostalgia galore.

@@ljpikachulover1011 Because they use the Famicom version of Mappy. Just like a lot of NES/Famicom ports of Arcade games, The Famicom version of Mappy does not save high scores.

@@thisiswhatido8920 Yes. I have played Mappy. I am asking if this mini arcade version is only 1-2 levels. I can't find anything online that shows levels other than the 2 you've shown.

@@eternalsenshi7019 it does indeed come with the full game! It is using a famicon port, or nes, which although isn't the original, is almost as good:)
