During the bonus rounds, I broke the wire to enable me to move further to the left by bouncing against the wall/column to the right. This way I would break the wire faster instead of jumping all the way up and finished collecting the balloons before the song ended.

I used to do that too. That and try to time so I could snap the wire on the any far side if the cats were jumping on it with me. Only got it 100% once.

You really have to learn some tricks. E.g. you can use doors to accelerate. You just have to close them in the right moment when going through them. Or in the bonus stage you can jump against the wall to prevent Mappy from jumping the full height. Do it 3 times very quickly to fall through the trampolin. This trick is essential to get all the baloons in time.

@@AlexKaboom "and mappy feels alot slower than the nes one" - i STRONGLY disagree....i was actually surprised how close the gameplay of the NES was to the arcade (that is, using a home console controller/Dpad on my PC in MAME, NOT a real arcade joystick). Ya, the timing IS slightly off (you say the NES is faster? Ok, i guess that's what i see...something's SLIGHTLY off, that's all i know), but it's not hard to get used to (just a SLIGHT change in gameplay).
