The impressive point is that this team covered this song in crossover way which is a combination of opera and rock. They created wonderful harmony to cover this song, and I think you might be interested in a way how they designed the harmony.

Woohoo!!! Love how you chose to react to this :). You point out how she pronounces some words...it truly is linked to how we Filipinos speak. As some have pointed out, she's never had formal training in singing and I'm guessing that she'd had none in pronunciation/enunciation either. If we look back on how someone like Regine Velasquez built her career, one of the first things her first manager took on was providing training/lessons for pronunciation/enunciation, too. So, maybe it's something that helped her improve her singing even more than we realize. Imagine what Katrina Velarde can do with just a tad of help to develop what she already has!

I’m now wondering if you could also review Bohemian Rhapsody by Forestella, a crossover vocal group in Korea, who won the nationally televised singing contest in 2017, Phantom Singer Season 2, hosted by JTBC. They won by getting the most votes from the viewers in the final episode after the 6 months of the survival competition. Forestella is a group of four young men--2 classically trained singers, a musical actor, and a chemical engineer who converted to a singing career after winning the competition. Just last Feb. 23, Forestella performed at a special program honoring Queen, hosted by the Korean Broadcasting Systems. They sang Bohemian Rhapsody. After the release of the video, it is becoming a record breaker in every sense of the word. For instance, only less than 3 days after the release, the number of views is now approaching 400K, with the number of thumbs-ups approaching 10K, at Naver, the most popular video-sharing website in Korea. I agree with what you said she still sounds so great despite the details you mentioned. 😍 Recently, i watched a video of her interview where she discloses that she's been under going therapy for bell's palsy. The right portion of her face is not 100% functional. And still she can sing this great? Woah! #JustSharing

Great reaction guys! I had a very similar reaction on first listening. I liked it a lot but certain stylistic choices sounded a bit odd compared to the original. But now I've listened to it many times and I like it better and better each time. Those stylistic choices really grow on you when you get used to them.

It's an awesome reaction, really in -depth analysis, I think they can learn a lot with your suggestions and hopefully use it next time, still, no doubt about Katrina's vocal ability, just like you pointed out, style consistency is key, especially if it's a produced video where it underwent editing and post-production mastering, I could expect much less if it's live, nonetheless it's a good try. But her All by myself challenge in GGV show is amazing to watch and react to.😍👍☝️✌🤟❤

Fantastic reaction, analysis and comments (My favorite type of reaction) :D Love how Kat did this cover, for me it's almost the perfect cover for the iconic masterpiece "Bohemian Rhapsody"! Your spot on when it comes to critique, It's far better to be able to learn by being criticized constructively, then to live in ignorance and never improve. I'd love to see you guys react to Katrina singing "somewhere over the rainbow" live on stage, it's incredible! I've noticed how Kat has a tendency to change how she arranges the song, like every time she performs the song it evolves (probably due to constructive criticism from reactors and fans, etc). Anyway I love the new way you guys are reacting :D

I have to write, right up front that I'm a huge fan of 4th Impact. But after writing that I'm also a fan of Katrina, I love her voice! To do this by herself shows everyone how much intestinal fortitude she really has, and I loved her version too. I wish that many, many Filipino artists are accepted on the world stage because they certainly belong there. In a head to head, my choice will always go to 4th Impact, but Katrina is my second favorite..

Good reaction. If you could have the original soundtrack available and quickly find the part you want to talk about, it would be even better. Even though Bohemian Rhapsody is an iconic song, I don't have every nitty detail encoded in my spine, so a quick comparison to the original would make it more clear to me what you talk about, and it would be easier to agree og disagree. I would even say that her start is better than the original, though I'm sure that is sacrilege for some :-)
