I know people think this video is stupid, but it's actually quite clever. He's talking of new beginnings. That beard took a considerable time to grow; something like that doesn't happen in just a week. It's something he grew over a long period of time, something he cultivated-a symbol of his past life. He's cutting it off as a way to start anew, and separate himself from the burdens of his past. A rebirth in a way. Like when someone moves far away from their old home to start a new life somewhere else and leave the grief the old home contains. It had to have a very jarring but liberating experience for him.

I was thinking the same thing! I was kind of dissapointed when I realized everyone was just focusing on the fact that he shaved his beard off. I thought the symbolism there was great, and the whole "He still had his hair" thing, I wouldn't have cut my hair either! nuh uh no way!

My name is Ash. I feel this song and it's video on the deepest level as I'm used to hitting a restart button on my image countless of times due to insecurities and the sayings of others. That goes without saying that i shaved off my moustache prior to 2018 for the so called "new beginnings". Love the video and the song, which correlates beautifully to emphasise the lyrics.
