@@acon70 We already have if any Russian bombs or something like that hit any NATO countries, all of NATO will intervene and destroy Putin. One reason NATO didn't let Ukraine join was because they knew that Russia were planning something so they denied them and now its terrible. (4:50) Native English-speaking people love to complain about grammatical gender, but it really is just another aspect of a word. A word has many features: spelling, pronunciation, plural form, to name a few, and gender is just another feature. German might have gender to deal with, but the spelling is straight forward. English doesn't have gender, but the spelling is instead a mess. But there are benefits of genders, and one useful aspect is that: just like how you can better track who you're talking about with he/she, like "the man saw the woman, be he/she walked down the stairs", where the pronoun determines which object it was. You also have this benefit from all nouns if they are of different genders, even more so in German since you also have neuter.
@cacovonluca2 жыл бұрын
Here in Brasil we have the same thing but not much people complain about it, just the English Classes are strange, like, having "It" as a pronoun just sounds strange to me.

4:38 About the genders in languages (specifically in German): You don’t necessarily need to memorize the gender of every word. You eventually get to a level where you start to realize patterns and can correctly guess the gender 80% of the time. Most of the words’ genders depend on the endings of the words. Examples: -e -ie -ei -in -tion -keit -heit -ung Are likely feminine (The last four are basically guaranteed to always be feminine) -el (Most of the time this will be a 50/50 between masculine and feminine, but there are always exceptions) -chen -lein -o Are likely neuter {-chen and -lein are also diminutive endings btw. and will always be neuter [this is why „Das Mädchen” is neuter instead of feminine]} -er Is often masculine (despite „Die Mutter” still being feminine) (Masculine words can end with basically anything, but often end with consonants. Masculine and Neuter are often close) There are, of course, always exceptions that break the patterns. I’m sorry. I really like talking about this stuff. -Haben Sie keine Angst vor den Genera der Wörter. Mit der Zeit und der Übung wird alles ganz leicht werden und werden Sie dran beim Sprechen nicht denken müssen. Viel Glück beim Deutschlernen: „Übung Macht den Meister!” -Falls ich was falsch erklärt habe, korrigieren Sie mich bitte. Ich lerne diese Sprache immer noch und bin noch kein Meister.

The migration visual was fascinating, & I'd imagine it's mostly accurate. What I will say is that one of my great-great-grandfathers came over from the Poznań region of Poland in 1857, when it was Prussian territory. So seeing that Poland didn't light up around that time either means they were at the forefront of migration from that area, or Prussia makes them categorized as more being German immigrants for this visual, as Prussia is obviously not on this map & eventually was German, though most of the area is now in Poland.
