I walked through Lviv Ukraine, summer of 2022 when the Russian invasion was in full swing. I walked to a small Italian style restaurant. We sat out the back because there were sandbags there in case of any bombing. I looked up as I sat down. Who was in front of me? Maradona. A beautiful mural, seemed freshly painted. An iconic moment of his career hidden away from the general public. Just like most of his personality was. I smiled. For a Liverpool FC fan of decades, Maradona was a hero of mine. Flawed, yes. Genius, absolutely. Human, of course. Thats why he was loved. He was everyone of us. Even in a small way.

Who watched Maradona closely. He will realize that he is not just only a skilled and talented player. I have watched many skilled and talented players such as Cruyff, Ronaldinho, Brazilian Ronaldo, Messi, Zidane, Robinho and others. But Maradona had something that no other player had. He was a player who combined talent, skill, strong will, charisma, and a strong leadership personality, as well as a revolutionary personality like Guevara in football. Although he lacked professional behavior off the field and not on the field. It is not enough to have talent and skill to be the best. Maradona was more than a football legend. His messy story is inspiring and I consider it the best footballer's story ever, even though it is on a dangerous slope going. Thank you to the channel owner for this masterpiece that brings together your channel with the story of the greatest player produced by stadiums in history. We are waiting for the next one from you.👍🏽🔥
@rockgamiasedes6779 ай бұрын
Could not disagree more. If you really watched Maradona closely , you would notice that he severely lacked leadership skills and everything that comes with being a leader of a team. His short tempered outbursts and arrogance made him ill suited for the job. His charisma with a ball was insane but his charisma with mic was nothing to be praised for. He was direct and to the point . Many times he attacked journalists for their "loaded" questions. Which often became more and more direct and insulting between Maradona and them. More so in the 90s when it was a favourite for journalists to ask him about his opinions on drugs. Which enraged him every single time. His will can be debated I guess. As much we debate about the will of an addict. (But I will give him point for being immortalized coming from that kind of background. Although that is pretty much story of every Brazilian / Argentine players of renown). He was unable to work under any / every team / manager throughout. he didn't combine anything that you mentioned. He was a god gifted player who was an artist like none other. But just like some artists it came at the cost of his own personal well being , addiction and blatant disregard for the art he was creating, which is playing football in Maradona's case. The list of players you mentioned Cruyff was the one whom you could argue that combined leadership and skills and charm to some degree. However, even then he was not perfect. As Cruyff himself put it that he was a disagreeable person. he believed that people can only be known by how much they disagree and argue with you. soooo..... The perfect mix of leadership and charm and skill was Beckenbauer btw.

One of the things I like the most about this channel is the impressive attention to detail. Be it an information related to the theme of the documentary itself, a beautifully animated frame or the immaculate background song picks. Thank you mr Fahad Al-Thekair for giving us these masterpieces! Edit: I also noticed a recurring melody that appears in a few different songs (from entirely different musicians) listed at the end of the video. One of the similarities is between the etude no 1 for string quartet by peter sandberg and holding on to hope by megan wofford. Knowing how much work is put into these videos it can't be a coincidence, and in a way becomes Diegos theme. I really like that touch.

This is superb & really professional documentary. You managed to capture what make football connect with people & how Maradona connected the national team of Argentina plus most of the clubs he played for with there fans, despite his addictions & flawed character. As a Leeds fan to see Bielsa there at his retirement speech reminds of how Bielsa reconnected Leeds’s fans back with the club, in an increasingly corporate world & sport. To see sports stars as humans with all of our complexities willing to show emotion & connect so deeply over a shared love of a football the club & nation teams we support is increasingly rare yet needed more than ever. Gracias Diego & the maker of this documentary for capturing & expressing this emotional side of football so well.

In 1984, Maradona seemed to have hit rock bottom in the eyes of many. However, he went on to achieve a godlike status in Napoli, completely altering the course of Italian football history for a brief period by becoming a formidable barrier to the success of northern teams. In Mexico, he participated in a memorable tournament where he demonstrated his ability to be both the leading star and a team player simultaneously. Many opponents openly admitted that their tactic was to try and stop him using any means necessary, legal or otherwise. He holds the record for being fouled the most times in World Cup history, with his time in Italy especially marked by aggressive challenges. Despite often choosing the hard path (largely due to his own actions), people adored him, because off the field he was an ordinary man with vices and imperfections and was easy to identify with him, while on the field he was untouchable, but remained a joyous, smiling boy who simply loved the game. There will simply never be a player and a person like him. D10S

I rarely leave comments in this era of KZbin, as most videos have the retention based editing style, and their value is questionable at best - but I feel the obligation to leave one here. As a football fan that was born after Maradona finished his career - the storytelling is beyond great, starting from his early childhood, giving information about his surroundings, the conditions he lived in to smoothly transitioning into his career along with all the drama it had in it. The multiple point of views on him, covering all aspects must've been a long process, but in the end you've delivered it so perfectly it makes you feel like you've lived along with him. From an inspiring video editor's point of view I cannot imagine all the time and effort that went into this - from finding the materials (pictures, videos, overlays, textures to relay a setting, color correction, etc.) to actually putting it all in one piece. Hope one day a media outlet recognizes this talent, and gives you the opportunity/resources to bring this to an ever wider audience - greatness beyond words 👏

I watched all games of Palestine during the Asian Cup and it was clearly everybody's second favorite team. Even a guy from Scotland made the trip and I wish I was rich enough to attend the games. But watching them felt already good and we must keep spreading the message. Your video about Maradona showed it as he has been a tool for the Argentinian dictatorship and the Camorra. Also, his game against England while the memories of the Malvinas war still fresh among everyone in the stadium. These two examples show that we cannot ask players to just "shut up and play". A Very good doc and I have seen several on DIOS. There is a nice rhythm and flow to the story. It keeps you engaged on this facinating life that was just as interesting off the pitch as it was on it. I think there will be more to come on his life off the field in the years to come. You showed the two sides of the man, Diego and Maradona.

Did we really see the best version of Maradona? Thank you for the such wonderful documentary!

In the end, I wonder if Maradona had been better off playing for a northern Italian team. Because while Maradona ended up being Napoli's blessing, Napoli ended up being Maradona's curse!

To love football as much as you obviously do to research and produce such informative and needed content to preserve these people, clubs & matches is a genuine gift to football fans. Your greatest eras of teams series was superb.

In terms of comparing the two GOATs off the pitch Messi lives a quiet and peaceful existence while Maradona lived like the ultimate rockstar and unfortunately that life eventually catches up with you.

How is Messi a GOAT when he played in the 2nd, 6th and 15th best leagues? Great players don't play in lower leagues against inferior opposition. The guy has been playing against semi-pros. That automatically disqualifies from from being the greatest ever,

@comicsans566 by my logic? What did j say that is not factual? Did he not play in those lower leagues? Is that a sign of a great player? Since when do the greatest players play against inferior opposition? Show me an example of any other sport where the greatest player played in lower leagues.
