Excellent overview of Leo Messi's career. What a wonderful gift he has been to football, a true credit to the sport. I am led to believe that Johan Cruyff threw his considerable weight behind Carlos Rexach and so prompted reluctant Barcelona directors to sanction Messi's first contract. Johan Cruyff's influence within the corridors of Barcelona remained potent until the very end. Thank you for a really interesting and informative post.

Sempre avuto rispetto ed ammirazione per il Milan e con questa era ho imparato che esiste anche un altra squadra, oltre la mia, che merita rispetto ma che ahimè è e sarà leggenda. Per sempre. ❤

This is superb & really professional documentary. You managed to capture what make football connect with people & how Maradona connected the national team of Argentina plus most of the clubs he played for with there fans, despite his addictions & flawed character. As a Leeds fan to see Bielsa there at his retirement speech reminds of how Bielsa reconnected Leeds’s fans back with the club, in an increasingly corporate world & sport. To see sports stars as humans with all of our complexities willing to show emotion & connect so deeply over a shared love of a football the club & nation teams we support is increasingly rare yet needed more than ever. Gracias Diego & the maker of this documentary for capturing & expressing this emotional side of football so well.

When he first came to UTD, he was frustrating to me, he would run like the wind, had the strength of an Ox but he would either fall over his own feet, take one player on to many and i was like, yes, yes, yes as my excitement grew then i was like arghhhh. When he settled in and the team adjusted to him, well then he had it all. It all came together. I think it was Gary Neville who said, we had to adjust the way we played to accommodate his level of skill. They say at UTD " know one player is bigger than Manchester United" yet I think Sir Alex knew Cristiano was that good. I'm pleased he has had an amazing career and respected for his achievements. He's a good modern day ambassador for football. Thank you for this video, it's very good. Respect.

Sounds really funny: "Cruijf transferred to Barcelona for 1 million euros". The actual sum was 6 million Dutch guilders.

In his second mandate, Perez went for a balance between media and world class players😂 His leaked recordings confirms it. I mean, as a Barça fan I admire that his one and only goal was seeing his club on top of anyone else. Real Madrid needs to strive towards keeping that spot, because the higher you are, the more painful the way down is. Just see Barça currently.

Where did that story of Cruijf instigating riots in the 60s come from? I can not remember ever hearing about that in Dutch press or tv.

For me, Arsene Wenger is the greatest Arsenal manager of all time. Wenger brought in exciting football to our team. He bought Petit, Giberto, Henry, Pires, Overmars, Kanu, Lauren, and van Persie. He led us to three league titles, including unbeaten in 03-04. Two league and cup doubles and four FA cups twice back to back.

Alderweird (however you write his name) is Belgium, not Dutch. Believe even though they seem similar, the countries are very different. Maybe he was confused because he came from a Dutch club (Ajax) lol

"with the team in mind..." No! If van gaal had the team in mind he would have let his best player cut towards the middle, and not leave him isolated along the line. This is like lippi and tardelli (in inter, for in u21 he played him as trequartista) playing pirlo on the left wing
@leonardobaracchi70405 күн бұрын
Van gaal was the technical disgrace of that entire dacade (the biggest problem being the fights among the society). Van gaal is always considered more that he is worthy of. He is a locker room breaker, he is too arrogant with the media, and he wants to decide all the trades (and often he is given this decisional role, here for ex. he brought a ton of low quality dutch players, that became a onerous problem for the club in the years to come)

At last, the legendary channel strikes back with this story of football GOAT. Now the only thing that's left is the King himself, Pele. The legacy of Maradona still remained eternity. His death in 2020 really "blessed" both Argentina and Napoli, as both finally achieved success once more after a long time of the hiatus, with Argentina winning the Copa America and World Cup under Lionel Messi and Napoli enjoying the 3rd Scudetto the last year with charismatic striker Victor Osimhen. RIP Diego.

Perez was more interested in COMMERCIAL GAINS than RESULTS ... The team lacked a RECRUITMENT PHILOSOPLY and didn't have a football ideology like Barcelona's TIKI-TAKA or Mourinho's PARK THE BUS. Too many players in the same positions e.g Figo/Beckham or Ronaldo/Morientes/Raul cause IMBALANCES in the team. The preference of ATTACK-MINDED PLAYERS only and less importance being placed on DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS e.g Makalele caused a catasteophic failure in this machine.
