it doesn not work for me , the origin games just pick up the downloading and ignore the folder already has all the data . odd . steam games on the other hand will transfer automaticly the data trough your network to your new steam on ye new pc , wich is as fast as transferring the game to an axternal drive first

We have tried this so many times with Epic and it doesn't work. My Husband is IT and epic is stupid. For half a second it will say verifying then immediately does to "installing". Then that's it. I'm waiting hours for install. If anyone has a fix let me know. So far. nada

I am trying to use this guide to install steam games but after I created the folders and go to Steam and hit install it says discovering existing files for said game but after that´s done it starts downloading Steamworks Common Redistributables and when it finished downloading it proceeds to download the entire game. Am i doing something wrong? any help is appreciated!

Make sure you go into Steam and add the Library Folder like I show at 4:52 - 5:25 and Exit the Steam Launcher. You can't just close it, you have to Exit it like I show in the video. If you don't then it will try to download the game rather than discover the copied files. Once it's done copying then you open the launcher, log in to Steam and when you're installing the game make sure you're telling it to install to the Library where you copied the game too. If you've done all that then it should work. Also if you haven't updated that game in awhile it may discover the files and then start downloading the update. Some games have massive updates too. :)

i doubt you’ll see this but after i stop epic games and move the files and restart epic games again the game doesn’t say resume it says install and then it just says yhat you have to pick an empty directory

I've done the Epic games swap so many times - and always forget the procedure. Thanks for the quick refresher. It's so simple once you know what to do. My recommendation: start Task Manager, locate Epic and end program. Best way to ensure it isn't running.

On epic game I think after pausing the installation you just need to transfer the file inside the copied game on your external drive to the epic game installation folder so it could resume and verify the files.

Brother, just to let u know, I installed FIFA 22 in D DRIVE as I had made D drive the default location for downloaded games. However I had earlier installed steam in C system drive. My humble question is, if at all I format my C drive, which obviously would erase my Steam client app as well, WILL I THEN HAVE TO REDOWNLOAD FIFA 22 ALL OVER AGAIN?? I'm having trouble with Fortnite on Epic Games. I've moved the Fortnite games folder into Epic Games folder in the new location. Then pause install on Epic Games launcher, close it and reopened it once the files have been copied over. When copying game files, does that include all your saved game files? Or is that in another location?

Those are in another folder typically, but most all games now use cloud saves so most of the time you don't need to worry about your save game files.
